This has become my favorite and only go to spot for my hair color, highlights, cut, and blow outs. The staff is extremely knowledgeable, always keeping up with the latest trends, patient, and kind. I can't say enough good things about this salon. I called this morning & the receptionist was kind, patient and guided me towards two stylists that she thought would work well for not only the service & look I wanted - but within my budget. She was able to book me a session this afternoon. I am beyond perfectionistic & I had a very bad experience at my prior salon leaving me REALLY nervous to have another stylist color my hair. Bobbie is a dream. She welcomed me right away & had a long, VERY professional conversation about where my hair was at & where I wanted it to be. She was honest, kind, caring & most importantly- made me trust her expertise & eye. I'm SO happy I did! She worked on me for 3 hours & even gave me tips on how to style my naturally curly hair, guided me towards the right products to use at home and repeatedly let me know that it's okay to ASK QUESTIONS & let her know if I had any concerns or wasn't happy with the way my hair was looking. That wasn't an issue because Bobbie did an impeccable job on my blonde balayage. She was able to blend my ends seamlessly into the partial balayage, add definition and was SUPER sweet, calm and welcoming throughout the whole service. The salon itself is beautiful, stylish and NOT PRETENTIOUS. I felt so at ease. I've worked in the salon/spa field for many years and Bobbie thoroughly impressed me. She won me over! Spent time explaining my hair type to stylist who then acted as though she knew more than I did about my hair. The cut was awful. She spent an abnormally long time cutting my bangs and neglected the rest of my hair. My hair is fine with a natural wave/ curl and she did what many unskilled stylists do- cut my hair as though it was straight. No layers, no texture, it does not provide the natural beachy waves that I am lucky to have- instead the body of my hair hangs flat and layers are disconnected from bang. Terrible. I had my first appointment here on Friday with Donna and all I can say is wow. I felt like I've been hairdresser shopping since moving because no one really nailed what i wanted but Donna listened, took everything into consideration, ran everything by me and made sure i was comfortable every step of the way. I haven't left a salon so in love with my hair in so long and I'm so thankful. The blonde was the exact silver tone i wanted without overpowering my head and blended so well. I feel bad admonishing this place, as everyone was super nice and the experience was great - that is, until I saw my hair. Sadly, these were the worst highlights that I have ever received in the 20 years of highlighting my hair. I did reach out to them about my displeasure and they did everything that they could think of to fix it, but basically failed. I am definitely particular about my hair, so I am a tough customer in that way, but that is why I will go back to my fancy salon in NYC. Belitting, cruel, and condesending staff. Booked an appointment on a whim to get my hair colored by Hayley and it was a horrible experience. Hayley and the other staff working gave off total mean girls vibes. Obviously Haley must only take regulars because from the moment I walked in she was annoyed that she had to take me. She laughed at the pictures of the hair I wanted and told me it wasn't possible with my hair tones ... I should have gotten up right there and left. She should have just told me she wasn't experienced enough to do what I wanted instead of getting the entire salon to mock me In the color room. If you're not one of her regulars, do not expect a welcoming experience. The color wasn't even my problem by the end of the appointment, (although the color is NOTHING like the pictures I showed) I was the most disgusted by the way I was treated as a client. A salon is supposed to make a woman feel beautiful and good about herself, I hope if Haley sees this she can reflect on her actions and not continue to bring other women down ever again. read more
