After a bad experience at European Wax Center (read my review) I searched for another waxer to do my Brazilian. After my experience at EWC, I should have just stopped but I knew my friends were raving about it, and I too liked it.. but I just needed a more experienced person. So I googled for places in Livermore and that's how I found Silvia. She is super friendly and makes you feel calm. AND, she does a great job! She's a little more expensive than I expected, but sometimes you do get what you pay for! Only downside is I couldn't find parking near the location and had to walk about a block. I was on yelp looking for a good place for a wax because I'm tired of the time consuming and ineffective process of shaving. I saw that Silvia had absolutely zero bad reviews on yelp so I decided to schedule an appointment. I had a busy schedule, but I found a good time that fit in with her. Her studio is nice and quiet and she made me feel really comfortable from the start. I just got a basic bikini wax and it was overall a pleasant experience. I was super nervous because this is my first wax of this area ever, but she educated me a lot about the process and how to take care afterwards which was great. We also had great conversation through the whole appointment so my mind wasnt focused on the pain. Of course it hurt, but that is expected of a wax but I felt great after the appointment, I didnt feel like I just got waxed. I will definitely be back again!!! Tips: She told me that it is best to get an Exfoliating Towel (found at Bed Bath and Beyond or Ulta) and use that with normal shower gel to clean that area, and for your whole body for that matter as it cleans away all dead skin cells and makes for healthier skin and a more pleasant waxing experience in the future! I saw Silvia last week for a LONG overdue wax. She is very friendly, easy to talk to and made me feel very comfortable right away (which is not always easy when your privates are hanging out there, lol). Best of all, the wax was quick and relatively painless (to me anyway). I like her location (it's minutes away from my house) and she was able to fit me into her schedule last minute. I'm not sure whom the reviewers went to. I went last week after reading all the rave reviews pretty sure I'd be super satisfied. I must say she was very accommodating in getting me in at a short notice. When I got there she was friendly and worked very fast. Since this was my third time waxing I attributed her speed to her experience and know how. However, for the next whole day my legs were on fire. She told me there was gonna be soreness so I didn't think much of it. But a week away and I find myself shaving on my trip as all my hair has grown back. How does this happen? I do not know. I was told at least for 3 weeks I should not see any hair. And it's not just the legs it's all the areas where she waxed. I'm really disappointed. I was under the impression that European Wax place was cheap and bad but at least the hair didn't grow back so fast. I am not going back to Sylvia obviously. Feel very disappointed coz I really didn't want to deal with shaving on my trip and here I am doing just that. Not sure if this matters but she kept using the same strip for multiple uses. read more

I received my first brazilian wax by Silvia and she was amazing! As most girls, I was nervous about the situation and the pain but she made the appointment extremely comfortable and her numbing spray helped ease the pain and it wasn't nearly as bad as I had imagined. Although I do not have another waxing experience to compare this to, I think she was perfect and only plan on using her now for my waxing! Silvia is great. I recently moved to Livermore and had to find a new waxing studio. I used to go to my local Aveda salon, but since there isn't one in Livermore, I decided to try out Silvia's services. She has quick hands, great technique, and makes the waxing process as easy as a wax could possibly be. Her personality is easy going and friendly, you feel very comfortable with her. Pricewise, she is very reasonable. I mentioned that at my previous waxing studio, I signed up for a program where I got X number of waxes for a discounted bundle price. As I planned to come to her regularly for services, she was eager to give me the same pricing. (CASH only!) She is easy to get in contact with. If she doesn't answer right away, she will definitely call you back. The first time I tried to book an appt, I got her voicemail and didn't want to leave a message so decided I'd try back in a little bit. She called back my number 10 minutes after so I didn't even have to call her back. To schedule future appts or reschedule, texting is a preferred way to get a hold of her. Currently she is only taking late afternoon/evening appointments. I cannot recommend Silvia highly enough. read more

I saw Silvia for the first time based on Yelp reviews. I was NOT disappointed. It was my first time waxing and I was nervous. Silvia put me right at ease. What surprised me most was that it didn't hurt like I thought it would, and while there was some redness the next day, a few hours after my appointment I was pretty much pain-free. Don't get me wrong - there are definitely moments that sting - a lot! - but the painful part goes by very fast, and to be honest, the few moments of pain were nothing compared to the pain/prickles/itching that come with shaving. Not to mention, while the hair does grow back, it comes in very soft and fine - one week after waxing and things are still very smooth. I will definitely be seeing her again, and I gave her card to two of my friends who wax as well. IMO, this is a great value, a great service, and what can I say? My shaving days are over. I'm 7 more pregnant and shaving is not an option anymore, so I was looking for a place to get my girl parts hairless. I found Silvia on yelp with CERO bad reviews. So, I called her and made an appointment with her. When I got there parking was pretty easy and almost right on front for her studio. She's located behind a hair saloon. When I got there, she told me she was running a bit late and genuinely apologize, I had extra time so not big deal for me (this is why I'm rating 4 stars and not 5). So, she talked to the girls at the saloon, who were very nice and accommodating, and I waited there. When Silvia was done I went to her studio, which is small and cozy, and we went straight to business. This was my first Brazilian wax and I was a bit nervous. She took matters in her hands and men, she's good at this. I knew it was going to hurt like crazy, but honestly, it wasn't that bad. Can I get a HALLELUJAH!! I just has my first brazilian experience and it was great! I mean it wasn't painless but it was tolerable (the numbing spray helps).Silvia is great, professional and puts you at ease the whole time. She puts the tunes on and you chit chat the whole time and realize, "Hmm this isn't so bad". You can totally tell she has been doing this for a long time and I never felt awkward. Her studio is a small very nice clean room located behind a salon that is in a residential area and not a busy business area so you might pass it up (like I did, LOL). First let me say, I am NOT a yelper (or whatever you call it)! LOL. But I feel like I need to write a review for Silvia because she friggin' rocks and I need everybody to know it! =D YESSSS!!! Silvia is THAT amazing!!!! Last week Wednesday (8/22) I was searching for a place to get a brazilian wax :D and I saw Silvia's reviews so thought I'd give it a shot. I texted her last week Wednesday night and she responded and I had let her know I wanted to get a brazilian wax within the next couple of days. She told me that she was going to check with some of her other clients for the next day (Thursday 8/23) and she'll let me know. The next morning (Thurs) I decided to book an appointment at a place in Dublin. When I was waiting for my appointment, Silvia texted me and told me that she's able to fit me in at 3:30pm that day. I left that place immediately because I wasn't comfortable even just sitting there. :/ I told Silvia that 3;30pm works for me. It was my FIRST time ever so I didn't know what to expect.. Lol. But as soon as I was in there with her, she made me very comfortable. She knew what she was doing! Very friendly and wonderful! I always thought that it was going to be extremely painful but because she's so damn good at what she does, it was totally not what I thought it was going to be.
