This is a gem in the downtown area of Dover. So glad yelp is out there, because I probably wouldn't have found it. Everything is fresh to order and they definitely try and make sure your food is the best possible, and in the most efficient time it takes to make it. Presentation is good as well. This is my favorite place in Dover. The workers greet the customers by name, the prices are absolutely amazing, and everything is prepared right while you are standing there. The tremendous sized hoagies at Simaron seem impossible to finish in one sitting. Even though I only had the medium sized one, and split it, it was just so humongous! I very much enjoyed the way the sandwich was filled with grease and the melted cheese and a bed of shredded lettuce on a quality roll. If anything, the cheese quantity is overwhelming, and I found myself ripping some of the excess off so that the sandwich would even fit on my mouth. It didn't really fit on a plate, even. My "tip" for this place is for you to order the 12" and have a little bit left over to split it with somebody or have a second serving. The 12" is their most economical option for most menu items. The 16" has less value, because it was not priced appropriately, and is also way more difficult for one or even two hungry people to finish. Get plenty of napkins on the way out! Ordered earlier in the week around 12:30 through Door Dash was quoted a delivery time of 75-85 minutes. Also chose contactless delivery with instructions to leave at back door. After 95 minutes, I called the store asking about my delivery politely. I received a half-ass "sorry for the wait" accompanied by the manager blaming Door Dash for not getting the order to them in a timely manor. My order arrived at 20 minutes , was not delivered contactless. Also the hot items ordered were at best room temperature and had been sitting around for awhile. Also the salad ordered was also at room temperature. This is the second time in a row I have ordered from them and the order was 20 minutes or more late. and previous order was called directly to the store middle of the afternoon. This is my second time ordering from them. I got 2 small subs but they're not small at all, they are HUGE!! They stuff the subs to the MAX!! You have to dig out some of the filling and eat it towards the end of the sandwich to get it all, I have no idea how they're able to afford stuffing them and still keeping the prices cheap. And it's very good! I'm originally from NJ so I'm very picky about bread. Most of the bread around here is too soft with no crustiness to it. The owner working alongside the employees made the place very family friendly. My wife had the to die for lasagna dinner, I had a made to order cheesesteak, two kids ordered jumbo strombolis....each...they now have breakfast and dinner for tomorrow. I also had the 12 piece hot buffalo wings and the wings were big, plump and juicy. I ordered online to go, the atmosphere is super casual and there are enough signs and artwork on the walls to keep you occupied while you wait. The staff greeted me when I walked in and the service was friendly and to the point. It finally arrived @ 1:25 and my fries were cold and soggy. When I tried to contact GrubHub, they said their system doesn't allow for them to issue a full refund, so they refunded my fries, the delivery fee and the tip. I've been mostly ok with this place the few times I ordered before, but today I wasn't. I ordered what is listed as a crab cake platter, and claims to be made with lump crab meat. My order arrives and it was just one smashed crab cake between 2 buns, with nothing else on it, and the crab cake seems to be mostly breading and little shreds of crab meat -- no lumps in sight. I also did not receive the coleslaw it was supposed to come with. The guy I spoke to on the phone after did offer to replace the meal with a crabcake without buns, but I declined as I could just remove the buns myself. So, customer service was fine, but the product I received was not. Just wanted to make sure others know what the crab cake platter actually is before they order it.
