I am disabled, I was just taking a break from it to catch my breath. I was more than six feet away from everyone. The REST of the staff were nice and pleasant again so thank you.. I found myself on ODSP and thought no dentist will take care of me. I had recently been very sick and was spending a lot of time getting teeth removed by a dental surgeon. Needless to say I was becoming slightly depressed and less hopeful. I was not smiling like I used to, plus I was becoming quite self conscious. I finally gave up fighting all these uncommon feelings by telling myself to quit acting so pitiful and get my behind in gear to find a proper dentist that was approved by ODSP. A friend of mine who knew that I was looking for a special dentist referred me to a place on Carling Ave. that, as she said, was not too far from you. I said to her that even if I had to go to the other side of the city I would find a way!! She told me the address, 2199 Carling Ave.and his name was Dr. P.V. Nguyen. Had a rough time pronounceing his name but when I met the man he was way more than what I expected!! Here I was, with my walker for spinal issues, standing in this new dentist's office which is very open & airy talking with a fascinating woman who said that I would be taken care of shortly. WOW!! I thought...so far so good! He offered me an incredible dental chair that when I sat in it I felt like it was like nothing I have ever felt before! Special to say the least! I even began to wonder if this cost extra! I couldn't believe my luck, he also gave me some of that old laughing gas(nitrous oxide). Well that was the first day of something special for me... going back to this dentist has become an easy chore every time I return. Thanks to the Woodroffe Dental Care Center I am now a regular at this Dentist!!

As far as the cleaning yes sometimes they can be rough but I think that just comes with the territory, for me personally I always leave with a feeling of a clean mouth and a smile:) not only do I think there prices are fair they even told me when my benefits ran out and if I would like to proceed with the cleaning they told me exactly how much I'd have to pay out of pocket, that is something not many would do and for that they will have my business in the future! Ps : they also offer Invisalign treatments avilable and will be doing it through dentistree family dentistree as well!

Everyone in the office is so friendly yet professional, and they all seem to legitimately love their job. So my regular dentist is actually in Toronto (my hometown) even though I moved away over a decade ago. I still made my twice a year trip to see him, because my whole family and I have been seeing him since I was a child, and he is great. However, sometimes emergencies happen and you need to see a dentist in a more timely manner than is possible with a dentist in a different city. This is how I met Dr. Dan. A while back (pre-pandemic) I was struck in the face during one of my martial arts classes (my reaction time was a bit too slow, I guess) and immediately had pain in one of my teeth. There was no bleeding and it didn't seem loose, but I wanted to see a dentist ASAP. Dr. Dan is actually my husband's dentist, so he e-mailed Dr Dan, since it was after hours, explaining the situation. Dr. Dan responded almost immediately, suggesting that I take some Ibuprofen to minimize inflammation and his office will call me in the morning with an appointment time. As promised, Shane called me in the morning and I saw Dr. Dan later that afternoon. Dr. Dan was excellent, explaining everything he was doing along the way. He was even sympathetic to my situation, lol. He examined me and determined that I had no permanent damage to my tooth. Never did he pressure me to become one of his regular patients, and he was very understanding as to why I still trekked to Toronto to see my dentist. He said he was happy to be there for me for emergencies. I ended up also getting a customized mouth guard through Dr. Dan after the incident. The price was very reasonable and the fit is so much better than those generic "boil and bite" ones that you get at sports stores. I was seen by the dental hygienists for the mouth guard and they were great too. Fast forward to one year into the Covid-19 Pandemic (and 13 months since my last dental cleaning), it didn't make sense to travel to Toronto for a dental appointment, so I called Westboro Dental Station. Dr. Dan wasn't available, but Dr. Emma Wong was, so I became one of her patients. She was also great. Very thorough and patient. As much as I like my dentist in Toronto, the convenience of being able to walk to my dental appointments can't be beat. I'm hoping my Toronto dentist understands. Westboro Dental Station is, you guessed it, in Westboro, so the parking situation is not great. There is street parking if you can find it or a paid parking lot nearby. Luckily for me, I don't need to worry about parking.

I've always been leery about finding a dentist since you really get the impression that some of them don't really care and are just there to "extract" (Get it? HA!) as much money from at each visit. I settled on Westboro Station Dental after doing some research and finding very good reviews about the clinic and Dr. Dan. I went in as a new patient and Dr. Dan and his staff did a great job. They did a thorough examination and Dr. Dan also took the time to explain and show me exactly the state of my teeth and what needed to be done to correct some sensitivity I was having with one tooth. I also had a cleaning during this initial visit and was very pleased: very thorough and no discomfort. Definitely recommended.

I came back and they tried to gaslight me telling me that's not the tooth they worked on. As if I don't know what's in my own mouth. Don't ever come here if you want your teeth FIXED rather than destroyed. Oh, and they upsell unnecessary and destructive work aggressively. The dentist literally told me "the x-ray shows that this tooth is probably ok, but lets drill to make sure".

Other dentists have been a disaster. Dr. Walters had solutions to all of my problems and the training and technology to make it happen. When I needed to get cavities replaced he knew to shrink the nerve first before putting on a permanent filling. My previous dentist did not and I ended up with a root canal. Dr Walters had a simple modern appliance for my teeth grinding, my previous dentists wanted to sell me a complicated 'old' style appliance. As a result of all of my experience with Dr. Walters, he's the only dentist I've ever trusted 100%.

I suppose this fact alone speaks volumes about the quality of care. I honestly love the team at Metropolitan Dental. From my perspective, there are three elements that set them apart. Chairside manner. I have always felt safe, comfortable and included in what was happening to me. The hygenists and Dr. Walters himself always explains what they are doing and why. I have always felt like a participant in what was happening rather than simply an open mouth having things done to it. Gentle Hands. Not sure how else to term it but Dr. Walters and each of the hygenists I had the pleasure to have work on my teeth, were exceptionally gentle with how they handled the various instruments both in and around my mouth. Not once do I recall having winced or experienced so much as a twinge of pain. Warm Familiar Welcome. This one applies to all - from Grace and the rest of the team in office management and adminstration, the hygenists, right to Dr. Walters (Dr. B) himself. I have always felt warmly welcomed. I have always felt recognized. And it astonishes me to no end how the team at Metropolitan Dental remembers details about my life discussed during a prior visit. I have never understood why so many of my friends hated going to the dentist - that is until I had to see a new dentist in TO recently. The experience was eye opening....as in painful and rough!!
