I stumbled on Simi Thai Cuisine by accident when another Thai place was closed, and now it's become one of my absolute favorites! The food is bursting with authentic flavor, the hostess is wonderfully warm, and I was so happy to find plenty of authentic vegetarian options, fresh and flavorful. Even though it's tucked away in a quieter spot, it's truly a hidden gem. We love it so much that we've started making special trips to Simi Valley just to eat here and I think it's turning into a once-a-month tradition! read more

This restaurant is in a shared plaza towards the back. Lots of parking. I've ordered rad na a couple times and it's my usual go-to noodle order. My partner ordered their panang curry and it's very good compared to other restaurants with this same item. We've also ordered their chef's special Spicy Fish (lightly fried with a side of their sauce, don't worry, it's not spicy). The staff is very nice and accommodating. Interesting how, over time, if you give (some) places another chance, it's amazing how one's opinion can change. Not always, but sometimes it works out. I only awarded 3 stars back in 2011, and here I am in 2022, trying this restaurant again. A whole different experience. We loved it. Plain and simple. We ordered the chicken satay, tom kha kai soup, panang curry with chicken, spicy eggplant with shrimp, pad thai, and veggie fried rice. And we can't forget thai iced tea, either. Everything was perfection. Flavors on point, veggies and protein choices cooked perfectly. All sauces incredibly flavorful and spot on representative of just how we like them. I'd say the panang curry was a teensy weensy bit spicy for me, but only a little, and the sauce itself, spicy or not, is just so addicting, so I didn't care. It may have taken me 11 years (scary how quickly time has passed), but I'm glad we found this to add into our local restaurant rotation. So incredibly good... and close by. read more

Ordered some lunch specials and I love the soup that comes with the deals. It had a generous amount of chicken for such a small serving. I think the flavor was like a sweet coconut milk soup with great seasonings. The salad and also the little wontons were delicious. We ordered the orange chicken, chicken pad Thai, garlic broccoli, and a curry. The curry was pretty spicy even though I asked for mild. Hands down the best Thai food in Ventura County. I regularly drive from a few towns over to eat here. The noodle and curry dishes are my favorite! Yellow, eggplant, panang curries... they're all divine. I often opt for the spicy noodles, but when I venture into other noodle dishes, I'm never disappointed. The tom kah soup is amazing. Appetizers are pretty good too. Thai iced tea is also a treat. It's a little hole in the wall restaurant (what makes it so charming imo) so seating could be limited during peak dinner hours, but service is super fast so I imagine you wouldn't be waiting long. Yet another excellent meal and service at Simi Thai. I called ahead to see if they still had their amazing chicken wings with proprietary spicy sweet sauce. They had one order left so they held it for us until we arrived for a sit-down dinner, and cooked them up fresh - hot,crispy, large, beautifully sauced. My daughter's yellow curry was excellent, and when it was too spicy for her, they remade it. (if you order even medium spicy you're taking your chances, you can always spice it further at the table). My spicy basil mint stir-fry was generous with its tri-tip portioning. Cool down with thai/coconut ice cream with fried banana. Our server Tony was very friendly and responsive - I think he handles the whole restaurant which is usually pretty busy, and the manager (Amy?) keeps everything humming. Love this thai spot! I frequently get takeout from here and they always accommodate my restrictions. I generally get the drunken noodles with no onion, no garlic, and no fish sauce. They do a great job of making it tasty and spicy to my liking. They have my order saved with my phone number so it's easy to re-order when I call. My cousin is new to the Simi area and I went to see him for a visit. I looked up a lunch spot and there it was in my search. Upon parking the strip mall is very unassuming. We sat down and ordered, and served immediately eight minutes after the lunch special ! We regrouped and ordered the following, yellow curry shrimp, glass noodles, and papaya salad. Everything was delicious, down to he Thai Tea ! I would like to go during lunch next time. The steady stream of customers is telling ... this place is pretty good. read more
