Hubs and I stopped by (we have been here before but it's been about three years since the last time we were here) just to grab a few fixings for some simple meals. We were thoroughly unimpressed with the selection of fresh vegetables in particular, but fruits were lacking as well. Everything essentially was kind of a struggle, and I don't necessarily feel that there was anything particularly good about the prices. On the upside, they did have a decent section for their 'more natural/healthy' options, so if you're looking for that, you may have some luck in that department. Overall, I mean if you must get groceries and this is the only place you have to go, I guess, but if you can find somewhere else, that would probably be better.

I buy more than I should or need but being I'm from out of town, they have some things we don't have in my local supermarket, so I'll get some here. What I found out as I was walking out the door was fresh fruit are free as you walking out the door for children or anyone I guess. Apples or oranges. And through the door is an ice chest with free small bottles of water if you'd like one. I took one and as other elderly ladies were walking out I offered them one as well. That is very nice . The Laurel, MS location of Kroger has a worn out and depressing ambiance. This Kroger just seems to generally be a disappointment to me as they are usually out of what I'm looking for. The blueberries, raspberries and blackberries they offer here often don't look so fresh or appetizing. They seem to nearly always be out of heavy whipping cream and they rarely seem to keep the whole milk kefir in stock. The beer selection is really sad here and they don't stock what I'm looking for. On average my visits here are full of disappointments and I would much rather just go to Hattiesburg to visit the Rouse's that ALWAYS has what I want and need.

I found what I needed in here, although it is by no means the best Walmart I've been in. I did not check out the food selection here as I was really just coming in for some storage and personal items, but I thought the selection of what I came in for what satisfactory. The personal care section is quite vast with a decent selection of products (especially what I was looking for). Furthermore, I saw someone else write a review about how dirty this Walmart was, but I didn't find it particularly dirty, however, again, this is nowhere near the best location I have visited, and prefer Target, to be honest!

Don't expect it to look like Walmart (). Aldi stores are smaller and don't have the huge selection of the big box stores, but their freshness and prices are so much better. Yes, you need to bring (or purchase cheaply) reusable bags to put your groceries in and you have to put a quarter in the buggy to use it, which is returned to you when you return it. If you forget to bring one, a cashier will supply you a quarter. I find most all I need there. Give it a try.

It was a very nice store. Clean, plus an employee stopped what he was doing around the meat area in the back to show me (actually walked me to the item - Sure-Jell) that I was looking for. Checking out was quick and the cashier was talkative and smiling like she really liked her job. Pleasant experience. Will stop here again if I need something on my way home.
