I made an apt at a Simon Family Medicine for a prescription refill and have a general practitioner that was local, and from what appeared to be reputable. after taking time off of work, filling out all of the paperwork and paying my insurance deductible- I was refused to be seen by the Dr. because of my age! I was told I was too close to being on Medicare (due to my age) and could not be seen. Please note I have insurance through my employer and plan on continuing to work and keep my coverage- which has nothing to do with Medicare. I was extremely embarrassed and was made to feel discriminated due to my age. I would give them ZERO stars if that was an option. read more

In my family's experience, Dr. Simon is the most unhelpful doctor I have ever met. Living in a small town with medical professionals who don't think outside the box is difficult, which is why the majority of people in this town go out of town for appointments. My wife is pregnant and I want to be able to breastfeed the baby as well. We knew this was a possibility but didn't know where to start. Therefore, we connected with the lactation nurse at the hospital, who is amazing. She has spent a ton of her time figuring out how we can be able to do that. The process requires me to talk birth control, which has to be prescribed by a doctor. My doctor was Simon, so I made an appointment making it very clear this was time sensitive. The nurse sent Simon all the information about lactation for non-pregnant mothers. He refused the information from her because (his words) 1. She is not a doctor and 2. He doesn't do that stuff. He made me wait two weeks for my appointment to tell me he reuses to help my wife and I because he doesn't do that sort of stuff. He kept saying he wasn't an expert in that topic. I am really unsure of what he is an "expert" at to be honest. I made the comment that no one in Elko is an expert at this, but can't we all come together and figure it out? Nursing a baby is a natural thing, not a life or death situation. He continued to waste my time, pretending to "read up" on it when in reality he wasn't going to help me. His response of "I don't do that" was really "I don't help gay couples in trying to both feed their baby." I was so upset that he chose to waste my time in this situation when I made it VERY clear it was a time sensitive situation and to let me know beforehand if he would refuse me. (I felt he would because of how he has treated others I know, telling them they can't do certain things because they aren't married.) They assured me it would be no big deal. The second he walked through the door he started backpedaling and refusing to help me in any way. When my wife went in the next day to discuss the awful appointment, the employees all tried to pretend it was about something else. Lying to get out of being called out on how disgraceful that office is? Not ok! I am disgusted that someone with such power to help people, refuses to do so because of their sexual orientation. I am furious that he chose to waste my time and try to come between me feeding my child. I am ashamed to have doctors like Simon in this community. This is why we go out of town. This is why people don't feel safe. How can this bigotry be overlooked? Simon is a disgusting "doctor" and helping people is NOT his priority. read more

Dr. David Simon DO has been my primary physician for at least five years now. It is my privilege to share with others his expertise, kind personal attention, and thoroughness he provides with each visit. His staff members are friendly and very organized. I rarely have to wait more than 10 or 15 minutes and I appreciate their follow up calls. I love that they offer your health file patient information online so that you always have access to your records. read more

Dr. Simon is wonderful with my toddler son. The doctor before, my son would scream and throw tantrums. From day one, Logan has been calm and listened to Dr. Simon thru the entire exam and shots. I also see Dr. Simon and trust him. Would highly recommend for any family. read more

One of the worst doctors in Elko. Does not care for the patients, just sits there and types stuff into his computer. No eye contact at all. The wait times were horrible! I would give this doctors office negative stars if I could read more

I have had to take many to his office and sit there. I would rather a Doctor be late and pay attention to each patient in the need they are their for. The other review all I wanted to say was did he want a express check out for a Dr. Come on our town needs good Dr's like this and I truly have been there and seen his work he is good and has a great staff. I worked in the field for over 2 decades and know good work when I see it. If you were back there and he spent all his time on you I am sure you would not have written him a bad review try Carrie powers if you want that service she has express line care and then when you have something go wrong remember you asked for the quick service. With the laws they have no choice but to type and you would be hard pressed to find someone that doesn't in any town.
