They give the best mens haircut hands down. I was told the other barbers in town all learned form Simone.

As someone who has extremely thick hair, I am very much careful with who touches my hair, because…read moremy hair is a diva! I am part SubSaharan (despite people trying to say to me otherwise) and so because of that my hair has a tendency to snarl since it gets into tightly wound curls. I had asked my stylist (Angie) to do a long layered cut and to do a "Protective hairstyle." Somehow, I felt like the vibes were off. Although it no doubt looked amazing the first day, not even a week later my hair is tangling the same exact way as before I had gone to her to get it fixed. Say what you think, but the last photo is immediately after the appointment and these other three are the photos of what she had done to my hair a couple of days after my appointment. (My hair is definitely not made for applying heavy heat like that!)

Meraki did a great job! This was my 1st in-salon cut and color in over a decade which means I was…read morein my 50's when I was last seen by a professional. First, they were almost on-time (I waited less than 10 mins after entering the salon and considering the fluidity of the process they were great). Mark cut my hair and the colorist (whose name I cannot recall - chalk it up to my old age!!) handled the dye process. The cut was well done - I only wish I had asked him to take a bit more off the top - which I mentioned on my way out and he offered to put me back in the chair on the spot but I declined - I wanted to test-drive his work to see how I felt. Then the colorist took over. I wanted the darkest blue dye job they could offer. They covered ALL the bases - all the way down to how my color would process as all my hair is white except for the back of my head which is medium grey, meaning that there would be different shade of blue, based on the existing color. I think they noted this so that if I wanted it to be uniform I would need to start with a bleaching. This was not needed as I was fine with the color this first time, but once again, they were keenly focused on customer satisfaction. The dye job turned-out to be a bit lighter than I had hoped-for, but because we had discussed it beforehand I was not surprised and was (am) satisfied with the outcome. I was also told that if I wanted a deeper blue I could return in 2-3 weeks and do another round of color which would further deepen the tone. In the end I tipped each 20-25% tip on half the total charge. Were I not disabled and retired I would've tipped a bit more, as each took very good care of me. So, long story short, the salon was great and the service was great, not only because they did a great job (which both certainly did) but moreover because they made it clear that they wanted to ensure that, and every point between my arrival and my departure, I had the best customer experience they could possibly offer...and at that they succeeded 100%!! I will DEFINITELY be returning in the future and they fully have my complete recommendation to others looking for great hair care and a Grade-A customer service experience!!

The place is a classic barber shop with only one chair. While some may find this to be a bad sign, I took it as a good one-after all, whether the place succeeds or fails is completely in the hands of the barber. No appointments, walk in, and cash only. I waited about 10 minutes for the man before me to finish getting a cut. The barber took his time, was able to give me the haircut I wanted, and didn't force any conversation. That being said, he's an easy guy to talk to, and has ESPN on to break the silence. All of this coupled with a more than reasonable price ($17) for a quality cut, and I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone in need of a haircut. I'll definitely be going back.
