I politely answered that I did however I was told that meant I could not come into the store. Unfortunately that is a red line for me. I bike everywhere and it is not safe to carry things on a bike without panniers or a back pack. I use both. It is a small contribution to the environment and to my health. I am fine if you want to check my backpack on the way in and out (if you are nice about it). I am also okay if you want to follow me around the store. Please reconsider your policies. Until you do, I encourage all peddlers and pedestrians to take their business elsewhere.

They've got a great mix across the board, stocking large quantities of the big box beers and wine, with a big enough selection of interesting beer wine and liquor to keep it, well, interesting. While the main store in Crowfoot is a liquor super centre, this location is a little more like a general store. The selection is much smaller but they still do an impressive job at keeping the right products on hand so you can stop here for something craft or something common. The staff are friendly, mature and knowledgeable enough about their products to set them apart from any other liquor stores on 14th Street. While not high enough on the awesome scale to be one of Calgary's great destination liquor locations, this Crowfoot Liquor isn't trying to be. I personally love to try all kinds of cheapo wines as you can often find some real gems. This is a good store for that. I checked out the chilled room with all the beer and couldn't believe the selection! They were well stocked with all the usual brands, but had a thorough selection of international beers too! I've never seen so much beer! As I walked though the isles I noticed that they had some good sales on liquor, some were $5-7 off! On my search for a nice red wine I walked along the wine section, taking note of the featured selections. They carried the common wines from the US and Canada but also had a great selection of Italian and French wines. They even had a decent selection of Chilean wines, most of them were ones I had never come across. I chose one that was on feature, then was asked by a guy if I was finding everything okay. I asked him about the wine I had selected, if it was quite dry. He said it was and asked what I was looking for in a wine. I told him and in no hesitation he pointed out a different selection. So I traded my choice for his recommendation. The prices for wines are very decent, most of them ranging from $10-18. There is also a great premium wine selection ranging from $29 and up. I paid $15 for my wine and it was perfect! The selection and stock at Highlander are excellent! Their website is even worth checking out! I will definitely return to Highlander if I am looking for a new wine, or beer, to try!

Co-op's new tasting centre in Beddington is awesome. Presentation and selection is great…read more I also recently enjoyed an event called He Said, She Said, which was for beer and wine tasting. They gave us so many samples that I was on the edge of needing a cab. Others at the event certainly drank all of their samples and would not have been driving. Food paired with the beer and wine was quality. I wouldn't have needed to eat dinner beforehand. The host made the event educational, fun and invited everyone to stay afterward for more of the food and beverage samples they liked. He also handed out coupons for store discounts. I was impressed with the attendance, which was about 20 people, making it even more interesting. An event like this, which was on a Sat. night, is a fun outing and great way to start off an evening. I'd highly recommend checking out the events calendar and I'll definitely go to another function here.
