When we first got here, we couldn't find the restaurant because it was actually underground! Once we found it, we were confused as to why there was a line of people standing outside the door. Turns out they are not accepting sit-in dining! You have to order online first and then pick up at the door when it's ready. They should really display the menu somewhere, maybe a QR code next to their logo outside? Something that would make the method of ordering more easily noticeable would be greatly appreciated! Once we knew how it worked, we were able to order seamlessly. The staff was very nice and friendly! He kept us updated on how long the food would take and brought the food outside once it was done to give to us. We ordered fried vegetable egg rolls and banh mi (pictured) and it was so so good. So delicious and definitely worth it!! Even though we weren't able to dine in at this restaurant, the food and service make this a 5/5. Definitely recommend to anyone visiting Georgetown.

NOTE: they only take online orders for pick up or delivery. They don't even accept you go there to order in person for take out. The food is cheap. I have ordered both braised pork banh mi and lemon grass beef pho. As you can tell from the picture, it does not look anything like pho. The broth is in a separate container, and it is not clear. The pho noodles is in a foiled pan, which I have no problem with just pouring the broth into the pan. However, even we don't call it pho, just say it is a beef noodle soup, the beef is not tender at all... The banh mi is just as its name says, very simple...

This sandwich is EVERYTHING!... Lemongrass Tofu Banh Mi with crispy eggplant. Please follow the rules. You must order your food online... and yes they are located in a basement. But seriously, the sandwich is amazing

It saddens me that this place doesn't have a dining area because the food is so great. That being said, they're very good with their takeout -- the lady working there was sweet and I got the vibe that it was very much a mom and pop business. The chicken was so tender and juicy too!

Simply Banh Mi is a pretty good introduction to Vietnamese sandwiches in general. They're good for newbies who've never had them before. In my experience, it kinda tastes Westernized in a way, but that's not a bad thing. I ordered a BBQ pork belly banh mi for around $12. It tastes fresh and unique. The toppings always add depth to these sandwiches. The pork was actually pretty good too. The only thing is that it's pretty small, and you have to wait a while for your food. It's pretty pricey too, and it's definitely not something that represents what banh mi is supposed to taste like. Overall, it's pretty good considering that it's the only Vietnamese sandwich place around the area. You could go to Eden Center which isn't too far and find yourself a better sandwich there.

The food is delicious and priced affordably! They are takeout/delivery only now (the pandemic has been hard on everyone) but don't let that stop you from getting a great meal from here. Notably, the customer service here is stellar. My friend ordered a fried egg to go with his bowl, and it was left off by mistake, but John gave us a call a few hours later to apologize for the mistake and refunded us the money for the fried egg. I really appreciated the gesture. Will be coming back again!

We did not dine in so I can not comment on the any other aspects apart from the food. The sandwich DAMN..! It's one of the best Banh mi sandwiches I have eaten. We got the lemon chicken, cold cuts and BBQ pork. Not even one disappointed us. The sandwich was crunchy at the same time easy to bite in. The flavors were amazing. Not too spicy, not soggy as well. I would go with their recommendations about the sauce and toppings. If you are craving or wanting to try a Banh mi, don't even hesitate this is the place to go to. The staff were so friendly. Heads up- it's on a busy street with not much of parking, there is a street behind where you can park and walk for five min.

best banh mi I've ever had in my life. honestly maybe even best sandwich in DC. The service is always incredible, the owner is the kindest and you can tell he really cares. The prices are very affordable and quality is consistent. I recommend this place to everyone and will continue to do so. I'm moving out of DC and this is the one place I'll miss most!

We didn't get it eat it fresh because we got side tracked. But throw it in the air fryer or toaster oven for a couple of minutes and it's good to go (take out the veggies though). I liked it! We ordered the cold cut, garlic shrimp and bbq pork banh mi and also the spring rolls. We went to another banh mi spot prior in DC and it was a "no". But this one helped to redeem it for us. Really nice staff and everything tasted fresh. Also, there's only pick up or delivery for now. Good stuff though!

A lovely little Vietnamese shop in Georgetown. I come here whenever I'm craving banh mi, and I've had a great experience every time. The bread is perfectly crisp, the pate is delicious, the sandwich is the perfect size, and it costs less than $10. The service is also always warm and welcoming. The interior is rather small -- there isn't a ton of seating -- but you can take the banh mi to go and eat it by the waterfront, not far away. Or dine in and get dessert at Thomas Sweet, right across the street.

Sign outside. Located in a cute row house in Georgetown.

Before we even walked into the restaurant, we were informed that the left entrance door had been broken for quite some time. Since we had a double baby stroller with us, getting inside was a bit of a challenge and not exactly the best first impression. Overall Ratings Atmosphere - 3/5 Service - 3/5 Food - 3/5 Parking - Street Parking Atmosphere - The restaurant feels a bit old and dated and could probably use some updating. Interestingly, while the dining room definitely shows its age, the ordering system is modern and up to date. The contrast between the two was pretty noticeable. Service - Service was just okay. This is more of a casual setup where customers place their orders at the counter and the staff bring the food out when it's ready. There wasn't really anything memorable, either good or bad, about the service experience. What We Ordered - -Spring Rolls (Good) -Pho Dac Biet (Special Beef Pho) - The flavor was good overall, but the broth was only lukewarm when it arrived. A bowl of pho really needs to be piping hot, so this took away from the experience. -Grilled Pork Rice Plate - The pork was a bit too salty for my taste and was just okay overall. Final Thoughts - This was an average dining experience. The food was decent, the service was adequate, and the atmosphere was nothing particularly special. Nothing stood out enough to make me want to go out of my way to return, but I also wouldn't discourage others from trying it if they're already in the area. There are simply other Vietnamese restaurants nearby that I would be more inclined to visit first.

The culantro butter was amazing. The bread was soft. The vegan butter was nothing like I've ever tasted. You would never guess it was vegan. So flavorful and creamy. Then we got the salmon crudo. This was simple but flavorful. The strawberries weren't needed though. Then we got the mochi beignets. This was so unique. Flavor bomb for sure. Nothing exciting and the consistency of the eggplant could have been softer. Then we got the gnocchi and crab. This was our absolute favorite. Like wow! So flavorful and decadent. The crab was the cherry on top. Then we got the quail and tomato rice. The quail was kind of dry on its own. Needed the tomato rice. The lemongrass pork was another favorite. The char and consistency of the pork was so good. The mango added a nice contrast. Then we the dessert. I wanted to like these as they have received awards for their desserts but this was just too complex for me. First we got the pandan pannacotta. There were these pieces of seaweed that really threw off the whole dish. Then we got the green curry sponge with a fish caramel sauce. This was okay but not sure I liked this savory/sweet combo.
