Having discovered Simply Stained Glass via the internet, I got in touch with David and arranged for him to come round and assess the level of work needed, to bring a beautiful, though much neglected Edwardian stained glass porch back to glory.
I was immediately impressed by David's knowledge of his craft, particularly his ability to identify past repairs, through the use of different types of glass.
As repairs to the porch were to form part of a much larger house renovation, David divided the work into sections, based on the urgency with which they needed addressing and how they logically fitted within ongoing building work.
I was given a quote and realistic timescale for each section, which left me feeling informed and able to decide how I would like to proceed.
Over the following year David and George tackled each section of the porch and were very true to the timescales. The end result is certainly a porch back to glory, though I doubt anyone would know, that any repairs have taken place, such was the attention to detail. Understandably, that is exactly what I wanted.
David and George were at all times, conscientious, polite and good fun. They have as a result become great friends of mine. read more
