The first couple of wax salons in Lafayette I went to were fine, but nothing special... But then I found Sphynx Waxing Studio, and ladies, I'm telling you: Kelly is hands-down the BEST waxologist I've EVER HAD!! Kelly is attentive, caring, and knowledgeable: she gives the best tips on how to manage in between waxes to prevent ingrown hairs. She clearly cares about her customers, too -- even when I couldn't make it in for a few months, she remembered me & the family drama I told her about during our very first appointment. She makes the process as painless as possible, too. There's still some discomfort involved (she's ripping out hairs, after all) but she knows how to get it done quickly and gently. The best part, though, is Kelly's fun vibe. She's by far the friendliest and warmest wax professional I've ever met -- every time I go to her for a wax, I end up cracking up because she is HILARIOUS. Her infectious energy makes me actually a bit bummed that I don't need to get a Brazilian more often! How is that even possible?!!?!? She was on time and I really liked the pleasant surroundings both in the salon and in her private area at the back. Her products were top of the line! The European facial I received was a French line of items that she also sells (but she's not pushy with the sales at all). The facial was relaxing and rejuvenating; both for my face and for my mind. I left feeling cleaner and prettier, and it was noticeable for days after. My immediate thought at the finish was how many people would love to experience this treatment. I'm so glad that I made that choice, as it was much smoother and didn't have the same pain issue that often I find with waxing. It took a bit longer but Janine did such an excellent job making sure nothing was forgotten. The space was super clean and I was able to ask any questions and she was a professional throughout. The space is inside an office building with a little lobby for waiting, and she was very timely. I already booked my next visit as it was so much easier on my skin and O didn't notice any red bumps or issues afterwards which I usually get from waxing. I purchased the package of 3 micro-needling sessions which was the way to go since it saves some $. Overall though her prices are at or below every other local place I've checked. Britt is so kind and easy to talk to, and she does a great job of explaining the process and the products she's using. The micro-needling was pretty simple and quick. It's slightly painful on the first session, but the numbing cream she uses helps with that and it gets better with successive sessions. She takes photos before and after so she can keep track of your progress and recommend treatments or products based on your needs. She doesn't sell products there which always makes me feel better, like she's really recommending the best thing for you, not just because she's selling it. Healing went well and my skin looks better than ever! She says she can age you backwards and honestly, I believe it. She does a good job of explaining aftercare and answering any questions you may have. She also does a quick check up two weeks after your first session just to make sure things are going well. I believe the boutique is currently in a transitional space while she waits on another spot to open up nearby. I can't wait to visit once that happens, I'm sure it will be even more relaxing and lovely.
