    Basil stir fry with tofu

Another difficult review to write. I had left the house earlier in the late morning to run errands. But I had not eaten anything. So after having been out for 3.5 hours and on my way to Whole Foods..I really needed some sustanance. And I remembered this food cart pod as I was heading down Sandy. Surprisingly most of the food carts were closed. I was happy that Simply Thai was open. I had never tried this place before. I was debating of getting either green curry or Basil stir fry. And the young lady recommended the Basil stir fry. I went with tofu. And asked her if their's a lot of veggies and she said yes. The food came out quickly and they spiced it Thai hot as requested. It was delicious. It had tofu, green beans, carrots, and onion. (Oh I requested no bell peppers) The reason and only reason I am not rating 5 stars is because of the price and the portion. $15.45 and the portion is small. For that amount of money the plate should have been loaded up; piled high with food. As you will see in the photo I took the small portion. I'm surprised nobody has mentioned this significant point. If you think about how much these vegetables and tofu cost. Not very much. And they give you a small portion... Well they are making a whooping profit. When I went to pay and seen the price... I asked the girl 15.45? Really why so expensive? And her generic but friendly response was "cause every thing is more expensive now" I was tempted to not pay and go else where..but I was very hungry and didn't really have any idea where else to go.. So their you have it..food was very delicious. Service was very friendly. And it's picnic tables for seating. But what kills the deal for me is small portions and high price. If they fill the plate high with food then I suppose $15.45 is fair or continue giving the same small portion of food and lower the price to $9. Then it would be 5 stars.

    Sunny day at the Pod

Why did I wait so long to try this place?? I ordered the basil stir fry with chicken and basil, hot. Everything was so fresh. Best green beans ever. Tender chicken. Spicy the way I like it. Every Thai food cart should be this good!!!

Service was pretty surly but the food came fast. Had the pad Kai mao. It was very ordinary. Less good than most of the Thai places I go to.

They have big windows that open up and a bar area with hooks to put your things. Service: We sat at the bar area since we didn't have a reservation right in front of the employee sink. I will say that as an observational person, I noticed a lot of female employees washing their hands, but very few male employees washing their hands. I was glad to have a female server. She followed up often with drinks, which was fantastic. Food: We got the Kingston Fix slushy tiki drinks and those were good. Nice and refreshing for the hot day. Sweet and sour fried chicken - the small was plenty for us, since we had been snacking all day. They were lightly breaded, very crispy, and not heavily drenched in sauce, but still very flavorful. White curry with brisket burnt ends - light curry taste and the pieces of brisket made this dish so robust. The brisket was a bit crunchy at the tips, but it fell apart in your mouth and wasn't chewy or tough. Overall wonderful experience. My dudes - please wash your hands. (We were there ~45 minutes and one dude with glasses washed his hands twice. I didn't see any other dude wash, but maybe there's another sink elsewhere.)

I have tried a lot of places that do the same thai style chicken and rice and it's almost always a miss for me, something is always off, usually the chicken is touch, or too dry, or lacking flavor but here it just hits right.
