Had an incredible dinner here, the food here is good for the SOUL my chopped beef was full of flavor and had great texture. The green beans were great and the fresh chopped french fries were a great addition too. I had a couple of ribs as well and they were excellent. Great service here as well, one unique thing here is that the menu prices have the tax already included so that was a nice surprise when going to pay for my meal. He was right, this is a neighborhood small eatery but the ribs, shredded pork, beans, potato salad & coleslaw were some of the best I've had in a long while. My husband ate every bite and LOVED his shredded beef and beans. I wasn't as impressed. The pork ribs weren't tender and the bbq sauce just tasted like vinegar. The potato salad seemed like Reasor's grocery store salad with sugar and extra mayo added. The coleslaw was good. The building was in need of repair. If I lived close I'd go back just to see if the shredded beef was as good as hubby raved. The staff were all friendly and happy. Got off the plane and made a bee line to this gem. I ordered the rib dinner platter to go with a large sweet tea. Sweet tea is very good. Ribs are meaty and juicy. With each bite, my mouth is bursting with wholesome goodness, full of smoke and flavor. My two sides were cole slaw and beans. The slaw is crispy, not too sweet,and not mayonnaisy, just the way I like it. Next to the ribs, the beans are smoky and tangy making me yearn for more. The rib dinner platter is plated with white bread and delicious tangy sauce. I HIGHLY recommend all carnivores to come and get your rib dinner platter. It's just minutes from the Clinton Airport. Besides Catfish City, this is a MUST when we come into town from Ohio! The sauce is indescribable, and I would love to get a half gallon for a taste of home. We prefer the chopped sandwiches without bread (why do soggy bread to yourself) and you can smell the smoker working hard. read more

I was there looking for a parking space and the bread delivery company blocked several spaces and people sitting in cars or outside of cars not going in to order so people that are there to place an order leave this location. A chopped pork sandwich with slaw on WHITE BREAD, turns into a gooey mess in less than 5 minutes! A rib sandwich, I would expect to get on white bread, but damn, not a chopped pork sandwich!!!! I grew up just blocks away from the south end location. My parents could often be located there on a Friday night. We enjoyed the ambiance the food and service was like family to us all. While they were dancing to the music inside; I was tucked away in the backseat of my dad 1963 Chevrolet Impala. Great food and friendly people. You can tell this place has been here for a while. Sims BBQ isn't much to look at as it shares a strip mall with insurance, hair cuts and donuts. You can smell the smoker as you pull up which IMO is a sign the food will be spectacular. Just straight forward good tasting BBQ, don't expect much else. Probably the best greens I've ever had. You could see the seasoning on the baked beans. You can get just about any type of meat you want. I got the combination plate (ribs and sausage links). Lived in Little rock many years ago this was one of my favorite places to eat after being away for sometime and visiting again the customer service was great but the food was not all that , it was edible to say the least , the sweet potato pie was frozen I was so disappointed! and the meat was chewy, and they got the order all wrong. I plan to try another location but no plans of trying this location again anytime soon, simply because I refuse to believe they have falling off completely. read more

While flying in to work for one day, the gentleman I sat next to recommended this place. It was a few miles from the work location so I gave it a shot. Food tasted great, I loved the greens, old school cornbread (not that cake-like texture stuff some pass off as cornbread lol). I got a pork sandwich dinner. Chopped pork had a great flavor, portion was plentiful. My only issue is there was no dining in, to go orders only. I ate in their parking lot in my rental car, so I carried it from their counter to my car just a few feet out the door. A to-go box, even handled gently was a big mess when opened.
