Approximately 2 years ago they "repaired and shingled" my roof. The first crew quit part way through. I called and was told they were looking for another crew. Waited about 2 weeks and rain was coming...called for help. They came and put a plastic sheet up, but it ripped in the storm. Still no answer when someone would continue and finish the job. Finally, a crew did come out and finish. I do not climb up on my roof and "assumed" all was done properly. I continued to have leaks and water stains in my ceilings. Thinking it may be plumbing, I researched that and found no blatant causes. Called the company to come and inspect the roof, and learned the company had been sold soon after my job had been done. Since then I have tried several times to reach them and get no answer and no responses. I went out on my own to find someone who could go up and check the roof and they took photos of the poor workmanship. I was appalled! Nail heads were clearly visible, shingles not aligned correctly, sloppy "patch" goo was everywhere, damage to siding, and didn't seal around the dormers. I don't think that warrants a $17,500.00 bill! Perhaps a lawyer can advise me from here. read more

Uhmm....so.... My house had been vacant since I had Sinclair come in and make all the repairs. The repairs that I paid almost $10K for. Just recently, my first tenant since the fiasco moved in to the place. And I am damn lucky that he's one of my best friends who has a knack for carpentry, because otherwise I'd be in a pretty awkward position. Apparently Sinclair's crew didn't do as great a job as I was led to believe. I personally haven't been to the house since the work was done by the way, so I haven't been able to see it for myself -- that's how I'm just now finding this out almost 2 years later. A couple examples: Apparently the new flooring they laid down was done well, except for the fact that they didn't cut holes in the boards for the heating duct vents!! WTF. My tenant couldn't figure out why heat wasn't coming into the living room when the furnace was on -- well bingo, the air couldn't get through. And the paint in the master bathroom was only half done. It looks like someone got started with it and just forgot to finish. There were a couple other things too. Whatever, the bottom line is that when you pay out the ass for a job to be done, you expect that job to actually BE done. The fact that the person paying for the work lives 4000 miles away shouldn't be an excuse to do things half-assed. read more

Within less than a week of the installment, and at the first rainstorm, the mitered corner leaked a slow and steady stream of rain water. I called the company and reported this issue via a voice message. Within a few days I received a voice message from a caller who identified himself as Randy Sinclair, and stated that he had 'fixed the problem'. Unfortunately, the fix did not last long. During the heavy rains compounded with melting snow in the winter of 2012 and 2013 and 2014-2015, I put a 50 gallon bin under the mitered corner to catch the rain water dripping through it. I later lugged the bin away from my foundation and dumped it into a stream on my property. Not an easy task! Eventually, I finally resorted to a DYI 'sealer' purchased at a local hardware store. That worked for a while but I was soon back to the 50 gallon bin. In 2016 I decided to purchase a rain barrel in an effort to divert the rain water away from my foundation. The 50 gallon bin got tiresome. That did not work, as it was still hard for me to divert the collected rain water as the hose was too short. There were numerous calls made to Sinclair Builders during all of this time. ALL of the calls went directly to voice mail. On March 13, 2017, I decided I would write to Randy Sinclair, the President of the company. I received a note back from him which was dated March 20, 2017. The note stated, "Sorry your calls were not returned, you are on the board". My e-mail address and phone number were also requested. This information was submitted as requested by the company along with pictures of the mitered corner, which at this point has an even bigger gap. I was very happy. However, I have not heard another word from Sinclair Builders, in spite of the fact that I wrote a follow up letter to the company on 4/26/2017. The installment of the gutters shows poor workmanship, and a company with a laissez faire attitude towards customers. Further, it shows a disrespect for a customer like me, who also resides in the same community and makes every effort to support local shops and businesses. I would never hire this company again, or recommend it. I am very disappointed. read more
