Sip is really taking flight! From their speed, presentation, and flavor profile, it's quickly becoming a staple in Westminster. Don't let the crowd outside deter you. During busy hours they turnover tables very fast. As a customer, there might be a little seat shuffle but just go with it. You move your seat, and they move their feet. We shared the following dishes: -Bo Ne Wagyu Sot Tieu Den: Their famous sizzling plate of wagyu steak and sides. Everything here was tasty! The beef was cooked well and wasn't chewy. The eggs, pate, sauce, and cheese were so flavorful, rich, and umami. I liked combining everything with the soft and crispy bread. -Com Chien Bo Wagyu Luc Lac (Shaken Wagyu Beef Fried Rice): This was so good! I loved the tender pieces of beef with the garlicky and eggy fried rice. Super tasty. -Bot Chien: My friend and I's favorite dish here. Basically a fried rice cake omelet. The rice cakes were chewy and crispy and dipped in the side sauce was so delicious. -Popcorn Chicken: Taiwanese style. Pretty solid and a great appetizer. -Ca Phe Trung (Egg Coffee): A great egg coffee! I liked how there was a lot of fluffy and soft egg cream. The coffee was strong and sweet which I liked. At the time we came, we were able to get seated immediately which was nice. However, as the day progressed the line to dine-in got longer. For parking, there's a lot of free parking in the plaza lot. This was on my list to try because I keep seeing it on IG. The place took over the old Lao restaurant so it relatively small but ample of seating. The decor is keep simple. Today, we tried the bò né and phá lấu. The food is average, nothing stand out. I was skeptical when the pha lâu came out, it lack the color. It turn out to be sweet with lots of liquid and very little organs. The bo ne was good in flavor but they overcooked the meat so it become chewy. The price is reasonable so I guess it compensate. The drink is good, but not the best. Coconut coffee has more coffee flavor than coconut. The egg coffee is overly sweet, but flavor is there. Fast and friendly service. I had not realized this was a sit down restaurant so I felt a bit awkward only purchasing coffee but the staff was friendly and helpful when i asked for coffee recommendations. My coffee was ready within 2-3 minutes of me paying. The coffee was perfect in my opinion, nothing too sweet and the strong coffee flavor still came through. Came here on a Sunday and it was packed we waited about 20-25 minutes before getting seated, which is pretty expected for a popular spot on the weekend. Once we were in, service was fairly quick. Our server did forget our drinks at first, but they made up for it with large cups of water, which we appreciated. We ordered three versions of the bo ne the wagyu with black pepper sauce, wagyu with pate sauce, and wagyu with salted egg yolk along with the spicy noodle soup with tendon beef and beef ball (Bun Gan Bo Vien Sate). The bo ne is clearly the star here, and we knew that going in. My personal favorite was the pate it was the most well-balanced of the three and honestly my ideal bo ne. The black pepper was on the saltier side, which works if that's your thing. The salted egg yolk was good at first, but it got heavy and tiring pretty quickly. The salad on the side was a nice touch it helped cut through the richness and fat. One thing I noticed with the bo ne overall: the flavors are very one-note, so by the end of the meal there's not much you can do to keep each bite exciting. I found myself picking off fresh basil just to add some brightness. It's definitely a dish better enjoyed in smaller quantities and as a shared plate rather than each person having their own. Three orders between three people was a lot. The Bun Gan Bo Vien Sate was decent similar to bún bò Huế if you've had that before. It just needed a bit more salt for my taste. They don't use imitation crab on it, it's real crab! You just gotta get in and mix it all together, it was delicious, it was peppery, I loved it. So from all the pictures, the claim to fame here is their sizzling beef plates (bo ne) and it's our 3rd or 4th time going so they do it just right and at the right price. This last go round, we got the salted black pepper; it was served with a small salad and a freshly baked piece of bread (excellent crumb and texture). We also got the meatball with bread (banh mi xiu mai) which came with three generously sized meatballs and a delicious sauce that we paired with the black pepper on the Bo ne. The only disappointment of the night was the garlic noodles with lobster, they were overall lackluster but the other two dishes more than made up for it. The service was a little slow but understood as there was a birthday party being thrown for one of the staff members. We started off with the Lobster with Garlic Noodles and personally I'm one of those people when I see lobster I want me some lobster. I started with the Pandan milk tea, which reminded me of cereal milk in a good way! The egg coffee was strong, just the way I like it and I loved the creamy egg yolk foam. The lobster tail was sautéed in a mild garlicky chili oil and the noodles were more on the subtle side, but balanced the flavorful lobster well. Just wish there was more lobster meat! We shared: Coconut Coffee Soursop Tea Porkrib Congee Wagyu skillet w/ eggs & meatballs Stir-fried Rice cakes w/ Eggs My immune system has taken a hit from stress these past months, so that congee really was medicine to my soul. Full of ground pork and ribs, it was nice and flavorful yet gentle and soothing. The rice cakes dish actually has been one of my favorite Vietnamese appetizers since childhood, and I always order it whenever I find it on the menu. We both agreed the version we had here was one of our favorite - the light crisp to the rice cakes and the ratio of eggs and crispy fried shallots on top was so nice. The skillet came with a nice big baguette and salad. They give a generous portion of steak, and huge meatballs, and everything is seasoned perfectly. This place is a great for breakfast/lunch. They have great options for noodles, protein, drinks, and more. We ordered the sizzling pate beef and salmon garlic noodles and both were amazing, I don't even know what was my favorite. The steak was very tender and delicious with the baguette. The salmon was fried and crisp to perfection, the sauce that was layered on top was so flavorful. The matcha definitely surprised me, it was pretty strong in flavor and had a nice sweetness to it. You absolute need to come here for delicious Vietnamese dishes! We ordered a variety of dishes and my gosh, the flavors were amazing! The salmon with the pepper sauce was my favorite! The portions were large and you get a decent size loaf with your sizzling plates. Be careful because I absolutely burnt my mouth (totally my fault) I couldn't wait this spot deserves a 4.5. We went for dinner the other night. There is a lot of available parking. The restaurant is simple and charming. We started with a mango soda and a pineapple soda. Give it a really good stir to mix it all up and it might just become a favorite of yours. We got a Saigon-style savory sticky rice. Sticky rice topped woth sausage, pork floss, eggs and scallions. Mix it up as best you can. The flavors work so well together. The wagyu steak with salted egg sauce was the first entree. It comes with a small salad and a load of bread. Dunk that bread into the salted egg sauce. You will not be disappointed. The wagyu steak was so tender and flavorful. The next entree was the fried chicken thigh with sticky rice, pate and veggies. The fried chicken thigh was so crispy and tender. The sticky rice and pate works so well together. The veggies included a tale on kimchi that was delicious. We also got some coffee to go on the way out. Good service and really good Vietnamese food will make this a must visit place for you. read more
