The opportunity to witness music being made simply cannot be missed; even if you're not familiar with the band conducting a session, this is a fantastic way to spend a couple of hours in Music City. The two gentlemen who run the studio were exceptionally kind and welcoming. In fact, it felt like we were visitors to their home rather than tourists in their facility. They answered questions, offered explanations, and moved visitors into different stations with ease. One of the best aspects of this tour was the ability to sit in on the different isolation booths. To be able to chat with one of my favorite vocalists from my absolute favorite band on the planet was a HUGE bonus, then move in to the drums area and crack wise with Mike McKee? Awesome. Y'all. Studio 515 is a modern day, state of the art recording studio. They have everything you need to…read morerecord your next project. The building was originally constructed as a generic office building but Studio 515 has created a very modern commercial studio out of the space with a large main tracking room, isolation rooms, a huge control room. The layout of the space is really open, and airy. The rooms are all connected in line, so each person can see everyone they are tracking with. The space is really kind of an open slate as far as vibe goes. But that can be a good thing, so, that when you walk in you can bring your own energy into the room. They just recently updated their entire studio to Pro Tools HD, so now they are on par with all the top studios as far a tracking capabilities. They have a lot of sound samples on their website, so you can get an idea of what they kind of sounds they can get out of their space and equipment. I had a good talk with Tim Grogan, the owner, when I looked through their studio. They are really adaptable as a studio. They work on projects ranging from totally independent sessions to label sessions. Their day rates are cheaper than some other studios in town, but Studio 515 has all the capabilities to give you just as good a recording. So, what they lack in vibe, they make up for by their better price structure.

We came to Jamie Tate from the Pocono Northeast area of Pennsylvania because of his reputation for excellence. Jamie and his staff have been professional, patient and kind beyond what we expected. His technical knowledge is exceptional and the studio itself is amazing. It is a stand alone structure built like a sound proof bunker-not a renovated building originally designed for another purpose. Joe Nino Hernes, the studio manager, has been very forthcoming about expenses and what was needed before the recording session, and has been very communicative about what to expect post project. Lexi Lew, along with being a fantastic performer herself, has been a great source of support during this process as well. We were really lucky to learn about The Rukkus Room. She really knew how to get the best out of me and help open my voice up with confidence and joy. I came into these lessons knowing a thing or two about singing, but she helped me get to a whole other level! Kyle has a lot of technical knowledge and shares it in a way that is absorbable. I learned so many new techniques, like, using vocal resonators, transitioning to my head voice better, and pronouncing words in a different way to get the most out of the song. What I appreciate the most is that she challenged me with complex songs I never thought I could sing, and it felt so fulfilling once I tackled them. With each song, I felt like I was leveling up and feeling so much more confident. Kyle has a discerning taste for music and has a high level of emotional intelligence. All the things you would want in a great vocal/ music teacher! I hope to continue my singing journey with Kyle and Amber Light Voice for a long time!
