The environment is an open-air cafe, bakery, and gelateria. They serve sandwiches, pastries, cakes, gelato, and coffee drinks. What a beautiful place to have an evening dessert! The friendly service helped make the experience even more enjoyable. Martinucci's is the gem of Santa Maria di Leuca.

Although the customer turnover is high (think fast food chains) but the atmosphere is positively lively and medium to high end(ish). At this particular shop the staff has been pleasant and (as you would expect in this part of the world) VERY child-friendly. The only downside is the presence of smokers in this mecca of afternoon culinary delights. This is arguably a divisive issue but at some point I personally hope they will take notice of the world having moved on... My only other wish is international expansion for this brand!!!

The location is right at the edge of town near the Fortress tables outside in the sun as well in the shade. If you only eat one pastry or gelato in town, this has to be the place.you need to order at the cash register first and get a ticket.
