My favorite Irish bar to relax and enjoy the night, especially on Friday karaoke night. I pass by too on lazy Saturday and Sunday afternoons for Irish coffee. The bartenders are sweet and friendly. The ambiance changes according to the time of day.

What can I say, the finest bar in Astoria. Newly renovated with and new expansive drink & cocktail menu. Bar staff are top notch, can't go wrong.

Photo was taken by the awesome bartender!

Went there on a random. It was pretty cool. If i was in the area I would go back. Prices are OK! A good place to start or end a night.

Sweet little bar with a super relaxed atmosphere. Great Irish lady bartender was so nice to our group. Best part of all was the juke box!

Cuisine: 8 Service: 7…read moreDecor: 7 Value: 8 Overall: 8 Four of us came here because I heard their fish and chips are very good. I am a sucker for this famous British/Irish deep fried goodness. Well, I can say without a doubt that this version is excellent (8.5/10) as described. The dish comes with three pieces that are crispy and tender. However, they gotta make a better tartar sauce than the ones they served in packets. Also, we switched out chips for onion rings. They were fantastic! I also really enjoyed their French Onion Soup (8/10) and the Shepherds Pie (7.5/10). The soup was flavorful without being too salty like most restaurants, while the pie had relatively fluffy mash potato with tasty ground beef mixture. The only item that was a slight letdown was the Chicken Pot Pie (6/10). The puff pastry was decent and so was the cream sauce. The problem was the overcooked and dry chicken breast meat. Our server was very friendly and always had a smile on her face. Btw, even though the space was basically a dive bar, the energetic 60's and 70's music was definitely a plus. Therefore, I gave it a slightly higher score for decor. All in all, this was a great experience.

At one time, Cronin & Phelan had a terrible reputation. Their patrons would hang out on the corner…read moreand stench up the street with cigarette smoke, then during the COVID period planned super-spreader parties, as advertised by their followers on social media. And that is why I boycotted them. Everything was very lax at that time, with little enforcement from the SLA. In October, my partner and I headed back to try their Irish breakfast and to see how things had improved. At the time, a large party was being held in their backroom, and we were not prepared to wait forever. We asked to speak with the owner, Mike Peacock, and told him we had to be at church to ring the church bells. We appreciated his dedication to getting us our food on time, but to be really honest, the Irish breakfast was not the best that could have been made.

I paid 11 dollars for two cosmopolitans, not bad for the area. Plus they were STRONG and the bartender was quick and attentive. I would come again. I wish there were games there. I only saw the darts, maybe I missed it. It's pretty dark and dated like someone else mentioned. In any event, I would come again. Good spot to start the night out bar hopping.

I've walked by this bar a couple of times now while visiting friends in the Astoria Ditmars area…read moreand have always been curious as to what its like inside. I love super shitty Irish dive bars. Love. L-o-v-e. I also like bougie but there's nothing like the fresh smell of musk, seeing a bunch of regulars that have been sitting there for way too long cradling their bud lites and pondering where their life is going to take them next. I had about 30 minutes to kill before heading to a baby shower down the street and was torn over whether I wanted to get a coffee somewhere or an alcoholic beverage. Given that I knew no one at this shower, I went with just a nice lite beer. They have an okay selection on tap and nothing remarkable but the traditionals and Singlecut and Fat Tire if you are feeling more exotic. What won my heart over really and truly though was their free party mix on the bar tops. Not that crumby kind - oh ho ho ho no. It's the kind with the cheetos, pretzels, doritos, and the little frito bits that have a kick to them. The best kind of party mix one can really have anywhere. My beer was about $6 but they have $3-4 specials probably at all wakes of the night/day. Curious if this is any way related to the O'Hanlon's on east 14th street in Manhattan but probably just a popular name.
