2 Stars reflects the good mood I'm in as I write this. You're welcome Sizzler. My wife, who sometimes eats here with her friend, and I were in the neighborhood so we gave lunch a go here. Wth. I hadn't eaten here in a decade or two, and since they are still here I figured that maybe they somehow got better. To quote the great philosopher Homer (Simpson) DOH! My wife ordered the $12.99 Malibu Chicken lunch. I ordered the $12.99 Fish and Chips lunch, and the tea. The total crested north of $42. Double DOH! Fool me twice...and never again. Part of the pricing issue was that the hostess put in an order for the Fish & Chip dinner, which added $5 to the bill. Once I sorted out the cause of the Hunter Steakhouse sized bill, I went back the hostess at the register to ask to have the order corrected, and to get a refund for the tealet water. She brought the manager in for the assist. He briskly offered a $5 refund for my Fish & Chips. As for the tealet water, he gave me a head tilt and a look of profound confusion, he took the tea and walked away. No apology, no refund, and no indication that he gave a rat's hiney about the tealet water (see attached photo). He cared nothing about this, and now it's my turn to warn you in order to save you the trouble and aggravation at this faux steakhouse with fine dining prices. Ptooey! There's a Taco Bell 75 feet away. You may get lousy food there too, but at least you'll save some money. My server "Tim" was excellent. Very polite and professional. The cashier on duty (he may have been the manager as well) was friendly and professional as well. However, I have to take the time to share how disappointed I was in the quality of the food and drink. I had not eaten at the Sizzler in Oceanside for about 3 months. Normally I go earlier in the day but today I came in about 4:00pm. Beginning with a salad, it tasted fine. Then I had the clam chowder and the strongest taste was the taste of flour. It was a very poor facsimile of chowder. The lemonade tasted "funny" so I didn't drink much of that. I so want this location to improve. I don't want to see any more businesses closing down so PLEASE do your best to improve. We want you to stay! read more

It's been a long time since I've been to a Sizzler. Sadly, I don't know if I'd ever go back. The lettuce in the salad bar was brown, the quinoa smelled rancid, nothing seemed fresh. I am visiting from out of town with my parents, and I much enjoyed the ambience inside. The booth seats are in great condition, its not too bright or dark, music is a good variety. The salad bar, both hot and cold were a fun variety as well. I loved the clam chowder, salad fixings, taco bar and bread pudding. Our table attendant Leo, was very hospitable and easy going. Never been to Oceanside restaurant before. As soon as I walked in was greeted with a smile by a young female attendant. Was seated and was attended by a hiispanic male with excellent manners attentive to my needs . The most impressive was the GM Jose I believe is his name. He was very visible from greeting his customers and thanking them for for visit and return visit. I saw him help pick up tables, bring napkins and constant monitoring salad bar . The Oceanside Sizzler is missing only one thing. All the other Sizzlers we have frequented over the years serve a delicious, spicy Red French dressing. Unfortunately, the Oceanside Sizzler serves a raspberry dressing in its place. Ambiance and service were pretty good. My wife enjoyed her salad. I ordered steak and shrimp. Shrimp was good but steak was the worst I ever had. Didn't even know you could cook such a tasteless, tough piece of meat. Also the garlic mashed potatoes were actually just mashed potatoes with butter mixed with a weird garlic additive.
