I came into Steffel because I knew they sold the brand of watch that I own. My watch needs a new…read morebattery, and I went to the desk displayed/sold watches. I asked the saleswoman in that section if she could change a my battery, and she said, "No. You have to go to a Jeweler for that."
O.K., that's acceptable. What wasn't acceptable was when I asked her where the nearest jeweler was located... how do I get to one? I told her I am not from here (although I have lived here for about a year, but I didn't tell her that) and she looked at me, very serious, and proceeded to ask me, "Do you have a cell phone? Get on the internet and type in 'nearest jeweler'..."
She was still talking, but I had begun to walk away at that point. THIS is by far the rudest, of rude interactions with customer service that I've ever had.
Even on a bad day, this is NEVER an acceptable way to talk to a customer.
