Great place for family and kids. Owner does her best and is excellent for handling situations. She can't fix something you don't bring to her attention. Kids will be kids. Great environment!

Through the end of Summer 2014 (September 1st), come here to build a snowman in the "Do you wanna…read morebuild a snowman?" area and/or enjoy some honest to goodness ice skating right in the middle of Central Florida. Yes, you did hear me correctly... they have an ice skating rink here! Enter into the "Do you wanna build a snowman?" area and you'll find real ice everywhere along with buckets and shovels to help gather the snow. Make sure to be careful though (and watch your little ones) because the ice and snow are quite slippery. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/oakens-frozen-funland-orlando#KyYKeJTFx5ECbo7-LqJxyQ If you want to try your hand (or feet, I should say) at ice skating, there is a $10 fee to do so which gives you 30 minutes on the ice. This fee includes skates, gloves, and a helmet. Skating is first come first serve and is open until 6pm. bookmarks folder "News" The workers come out every now and then with a small zamboni to remove the grooves and smooth the ice. I saw this done once and just afterwards, a couple of Arendelle citizens (a young man and woman) come out on the ice and skated for approximately 10 minutes. They are professional skaters and they skate along as a pair to some of the popular songs from Frozen. This is not listed in any of the guides, etc. Imagine my surprise when they hit the ice! I was excited to be there while this was going on. It was great to be able to watch! I absolutely love watching figure skating. You'll also find Olaf's snack stand inside here. Lots of yummy goodies! They have three different kinds of cupcakes: Elsa (white cake w/ buttercream icing) http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/oakens-frozen-funland-orlando#RlLfcPBcxh9DGIGMgQu6aA Anna (chocolate cake w/ buttercream icing) http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/oakens-frozen-funland-orlando#wVcDAPSmia-udBcAHUrQig and Olaf (carrot cake with cream cheese icing) http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/oakens-frozen-funland-orlando#NvGcUD3IKZAoFb-Rr2jgew Sprinkled on top of all three cupcakes are tiny edible snowflakes. There's a stick thing in the top of the Elsa and Anna cupcakes with their photos on them and at first I thought it was plastic and you just pulled it out. I laid it on my plate, but I kept touching it and it appeared to be smearing some. I asked my husband if it was edible. He said it was plastic. I told him I thought it was edible. He said, "Well, I'm not going to bite into it and break a tooth." So, after inspecting it some more, I finally gave it a slight bite and what do you know? It was white chocolate! Surprise! The one on top of the Anna cupcake is also white chocolate. I did take a photo of Olaf's cupcake, but I can't for the life of me remember if he is white chocolate or a marshmallow or what. I did hear people raving about how good the carrot cake cupcake is. Also, I really enjoyed my Elsa cupcake. The cake was perfectly moist and the buttercream was just the right amount of sweet without being over-powering. The cupcakes I had definitely can go neck and neck with some of the best cupcakes I've had from legit cupcake shops! They are also big; I had to eat mine with a fork. Also at the snack stand, you'll find a very special Olaf plastic cup which comes filled with a blue raspberry slushie http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/oakens-frozen-funland-orlando#pUj-qdsNY34SvHoVJxcHoA SO GOOD! These cups are pretty awesome too. Because of the size of them and the way they are shaped (the lid also snaps on nice and tightly), we've been bringing them into the Parks empty (we have three of them) with cans or bottles of Pepsi. You can get free cups of ice at any QSR (Quick Service Restaurant) Stands and we've been pouring the ice into the Olaf cups for our Pepsi. Saves some $$ on buying Disney drinks, let me tell ya! I just wish you could get them refilled with the blue raspberry slushie at a discounted price. That's why we've ended up with three of the things... we can't get enough of the slushies. It's all about Frozen, right? Yes! It's definitely cold, cold, cold in here.... Brrrrrr!

In the swarm of DJ's in Orlando, I was so pleased we decided on Nvision Productions! I worked with Christian several weeks before the event, walked through the venue and discussed the time line of the evening. He is personable, and since this was our first party we had done like this, he was very reassuring. I was very skeptical of the additional expense for lighting but I took his word for it and all I can say is.... BUY the lighting package!! It is 100% worth it. While Christian was fantastic at getting the people moving.. the lighting really set the stage and gave the room a party atmosphere! It is worth every penny. Christian was also perfectly professional. He set up hours before the event to make sure everything was in place, he stayed long after the party was over to pack up all of his gear. He was polite to everyone while he fielded their song requests, worked the light show and even led several of the line dances to keep the crowd dancing.... He's got some pretty good moves himself :) and really made everyone feel comfortable! I can't recommend them highly enough. We are excited to have another party with NVision!

Race fans ain't like nobody else. Come Saturday night, you can keep your peace and quiet. Set us in…read moresome bleachers, overlooking the asphalt rink of the stock car roller derby. Hell yeah! Racing. It just plain gets in your blood. Welded to your chassis. Belted in tight. Race fans will trek a whole lotta miles, if necessary, to spend the night with strangers. Strangers, who, like us, crave the smell of rubber, radiators and flaming fumes. Auburndale Speedway has been a trek destination of mine for a few years now. Oh say, since 1977-ish. That's a helluva lot of busted up race cars, spins, smoke and temper tantrums. All of a sudden, I wasn't able to attend. For this reason, or for that reason. Non-sense reasons. And that, is a pity. I really really missed it. But I'm back. And it's like I never ever stopped going. Picking up right where I left off! The parking lot. The ticket windows. The gate. The gatekeepers. The grandstands. The concession stand. The bathrooms (gotta go, ya know?). The track. The cars. Best of all, the intoxicating sound of those high revving engines. Screaming and popping, practicing on the track. It's loud. Real loud. Real music to a race fan's ears. A rock concert of speed. Everything was there. I was there. I sat where I always sit! (Race fans love their spots!). I ate 'race food'. Burger, fries and a foam cup of fizzy pop. Soda to some. Boiled peanuts. Biting into that saltwater brine. It was a perfect night for racing. It was a perfect night OF racing. While a misty drizzle tickled at us, we were wowed by a rainbow. Pointing to that pot of gold on Turn 4. We knew that was no threat. We knew we were going racing! It was a perfect race crowd. Kids running around looking at everything but the races. Teens playing Frisbee in the side yard. Old men, alone and bundled up in their Chevy race jackets. Young couples, with babies, starting a new batch of race fans. Fueled up fans with foamy beers and go team cheers. The 'we stand for the wreck worriers'. Every race saw quite a bit of drama. Spills and thrills. Rubber donut decorated doors. Flopping hoods and finger pointing. Spins and wins. I'd say we got WAY more than we paid admission for. A whole lot more. I'm a fan of Auburndale Speedway. It has a lot of character. It has a whole lot of CHARACTERS! IF we lose another racetrack, we lose another piece of our hearts. We can't let that happen! Track owners could save themselves a lot of stress, and money, by throwing away the keys and just walking away. It's OUR job to keep these tracks alive! WHAT happens if we have NO races to go to. NONE. Anywhere. I don't even want to think about that... Welcome, race fans!

With the dirt & dust coming off the track in turn 4 -- be sure and wear your Covid Mask and goggles. They used to use the blower trucks during the break between races to help clear some of it.
