It is located between the neighborhoods of Casco Viejo and Ensanche. It is surrounded by white houses and in the center of the square there is a monument in memory of the Battle of Vitoria (1813), an episode of the War of Independence.
There's also a vegetable sculpture with the name of the city, that makes it one of the most photographed landmarks in the city.
The square gets lit up very nicely at night.
There are dozens of cafes, restaurants, pintxo bars, stores and businesses around.
