I was greeted by a super nice employee at the store who could have been the owner. It's an Eastern European focused market and deli and they have some great items. A lot of them are low on preservatives and when possible, sourced from somewhere in Canada. There are a lot of meats, fish, frozen food items and caviar. They have a lot of pre packaged snacks and drinks that come from overseas. They even have a local baker who provides them with sour dough daily! I heard they sell out every morning so get their early if you want some really fresh sour dough. I ended up leaving with some frozen perogies made from Montreal and some European Fanta. I will come back for some other items in the future

I later met her friendly husband, from Poland and he is said to be in charge of all the meats. They all looked amazing! I bought a few things and one thing from the meat case was a spicy meat stick. Not all meat sticks are made alike! Yummy! The store was SO clean and new feeling. Everything was well appointed and I went around a few times to see everything. Lots of spices. I bought some spicy spices of course, some perogies, tomato paste, high end dried pasta. Many things are imported, some items are CDN from TO, Montreal and of course there are some homemade things in the deli. There are even a few chairs and tables inside if you want to have lunch here. So, influences from Poland, Russia, Ukraine, Italy - this place has you covered. Even fresh caviar! Little frozen cheesecake ice cream bars! Needless to say, a gem, I'll be back.

We got the following: # Turkey sandwich: Thick cut, generous turkey slices (taste like actual tender turkey breast) with lettuce, pickle, tomato, mayo, mustard, and roasted red pepper spread. Paired with smoked cheese slice. It was DELICIOUS. What set this apart from other sub/sandwich places is the use of roasted red pepper spread. It is a game changer. Bread (Kaiser) is fresh, crispy on the outside, slightly sweet and light interior, perfect for the rich meat slices. # Schnitzel sandwich: Pork schnitzel topped with sauerkraut salad and served on a toasted Kaiser. This was a bit disappointing - the schnitzel was very hard and dry. However, the sauerkraut salad and again, the roasted red pepper spread was perfect accompaniment. # Homemade Vienna cheesecake: Delicious!!! $2.99 per cake, homey taste. Fresh and light, with a hint of orange. Although I expressed negative for their schnitzel this time, I still want to rate 5. I've had some apple pastries (several years ago) and more recently I tried one of their cakes, which are sold by weight. The apple pastries ($2 each at the time) were ok, but I found them a bit dry. The cake ($9.30 for a fairly small piece) was delicious, but I found it pricey. However, it had many layers and I tasted a lot of hazelnuts in it, so with the cost of things these days, prices are what they are. The cake was really moist and rich, but not too sweet, which I appreciated. Service was courteous. It's in a strip mall and there free parking in the shared strip mall parking lot.

The amount of meat was good but I feel I would have liked more tomatoey tang. It's just personal preference but I like my Lebanese meat pies a bit spicy, tangy from the tomatoes with a touch of smokey flavour (I'm guessing from smoked paprika) and the one here didn't have those elements. The man serving me was very friendly and welcoming and I appreciated that. They are a small grocery store but also have fresh meats, and prepared foods. They sell rotisserie chicken, grilled chicken and skewered meats. They have a charcoal grill. And they have some sweets too. I saw Kunafe and Shaabiyat. I would return to try their desserts and maybe a shish tawook wrap or something else from their grill. They have a few picnic tables out front to eat at. They are located in a small plaza. I like that far better than the modified Disneyland type of food stores that are all looks and no substance. Excellent service. Attentive and kind. Had a grilled sandwich to go: the Südtirol.
