Right behind the bar was the magazine rack. You did not have to leave your stool to retrieve a questionable magazine. Early in the morning there was a older man sitting by the front window reading the newspaper. Usually the news paper was upside down. Another older couple frequented the place and were known as Mr and Mrs America. Our group included Ivan Stotz, Dick Hessey, Jamie Liable, Dave Maegar and myself, Doug Mofle. But it was too... nice... so didn't have the real, gritty feel I was looking for. But I should have known better than to expect that at a bar just 2 blocks from the touristy stuff. Dr. Lucky's is a nice little sports bar. Very clean, bordering on too clean. There's pool tables, darts, and an arcade game or two. There are 19 beers on tap, a surprisingly high number for a bar of this size. The menu consists of typical bar standards -- mostly fried foods.

The atmosphere is dark, but it is a bar, not a dance club, not a casino, not a family restaurant. It is a true dive and I love it. I go to Karaoke on Wednesday nights but they have it multiple nights a week, plus live shows from local and sometimes even touring bands.
