Before I ever visited this place my wife bought a coffee mug with their logo on it in a local thrift store. It was purchased for our trailer. Over the years, on trips to Reno, Tahoe, and Northern California, we have driven past this place, and have tried to stop for a cup of coffee. This past Sunday, we were passing through and decided it was too late for coffee, but we went in and ordered two chicken burrito's. They both had a decent amount of meat, beans, and rice. They were both very good. The coffee is always fresh and the ambiance is fantastic. If you are ever going through Jordan Valley, please stop here. read more

Mary and I stopped in here while traveling in the area. The Rock House was built in 1872 as a home; now operating as a business, it is nicely decorated inside and out! There are lots of local craft items for sale. Mary had a chicken burrito and I had a Philly cheesesteak burrito, both were delicious; made by a local chef. My mocha was delicious. Amazing spot to stop while passing through on our way to Idaho. As advertised, they have super clean and nice bathrooms. They have really good coffee too and other knickknacks. My daughter got some souvenirs for my grandsons. They have some sweet and spicy jams too. I had to pick up one jar. I am planning on using it on Pork Belly Burnt ends. Customer service was awesome. Young man who lives in this small town on a ranch. We stopped on our way home too. More coffee and a pit stop. They have the story of this town in pictures on the wall. Skinner's Rockhouse Cafe is a great spot to stop while traveling! It's perfect for a good cup of coffee. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, which makes the whole experience even better. You feel taken care of right when you walk in. The coffee is really good, fresh and flavorful and the breakfast burritos are a standout. They're hearty, tasty, and a perfect way to start the day. It's clear they put care into their food. Also worth mentioning: the bathroom was clean, which I always appreciate when traveling or dining out. We are only in this part of Oregon every 5 years for our family reunion, and all of us look forward to stopping at the Rockhouse for homemade ice cream. Such a nice small home style shop. It's the perfect little place to stretch your legs and walk around. Also had a nice size scoop of huckleberry ice cream with real pieces of actual huckleberry. Yummy! Super sweet staff as well. An all around nice stop. If heading towards Nevada, fuel up before leaving the ice cream shop, it's a long bare drive with absolutely nothing for quite a while. read more

This was a cool spot to stop off...if you are ever on the tortures journey of yrs eking through this area this is a must stop to stretch your legs, grab a coffee, ice cream or a combination of both. Employees are super friendly and got us much needed caffeine and ice cream nutrients. Plenty of seating outside and while the inside is a little smaller places to sit and relax. What was also refreshing were the ultra clean bathrooms they claim and they lived up to 100% of that claim. This was a great stop off point and will do so in the future. read more

How many times have I driven past this place without stopping? Too many as it turns out. We finally chose to stop for some caffeine here and we were very pleasantly surprised. Our coffees (a latte and a cappuccino) were really good and just what we needed to face the long drive through Oregon. The shop is cute as heck and they sell a variety of goods one might wish to pick up as a gift of for yourself. The woman who I assume is the proprietresses was lovely and she made everyone feel welcome. The restrooms also live up to their billing. This is easily the best place to stop in Jordan Valley, so don't do like we did and wait a long time to stop here. Next time: burritos... read more

This is a can't miss little stop if you're traveling through Jordan Valley. They serve amazing quality coffee, shakes, and little treats like coffee and muffins. I didn't expect much for a roadside cafe in a small town but I got one of the best americanos I've had in recent memory here. The barista knew what she was doing: I watched her pull espresso shots that were perfect with rich crema and my americano was rich and smooth and packed a punch. You can get a huge variety of espresso drinks, and their prices are actually lower than most coffee shops. If you're in the mood for something cold you can get a frappe or a super thick milkshake. Oh goodness, the shakes are amazing. I think they use local ice cream and it's just outstanding. Add on a snickerdoodle cookie and your inner child will be satisfied. The service here is incredibly friendly. The restroom (which you should definitely use since there isn't one for a hundred miles in either direction) is always sparkling clean. Hey sell games and toys to keep your kiddos entertained if you need it. The walls have historical information about the family and it's fun to read. I think the place is just a gem. read more
