The big disadvantage with Elmau is its height, but in February/March we have never had a lack of snow. There are many ski runs to suit all abilities. The ski school is also particularly good starting in the centre of this picturesque village. In Austria ski school runs 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon and you can either collect your children for lunch or they can have it with the instructors. There is plenty of après ski here too, ranging from toboggan to sleigh rides.

But Christian deserves to be lauded and hopefully if I make a point of booking him far in advance I'll still be able to get him the next time I want him. Before working with Christian, my wife and I had been to Kitzbühel twice previously (February 2016 and February 2017) and, coming in as we were with little skiing experience, we had worked with an instructor on those trips. That instructor was great but since he is no longer working in Kitzbühel, we looked for another instructor this time and that brought us to Christian. And wow: Christian was just amazing! We skied with Christian on Sunday, February 17, 2019 and it was so great that at the end of the day we decided on the spot to ski with him again on Monday, February 18, 2019 as well (fortunately for us, he was available again that day). What was so great about Christian is that he knew just how to push my wife to get her to the next level. I couldn't believe the amount of progress she made in those 2 days. And the best part about it is that she enjoys herself skiing more now: on our previous trips my wife stringently stuck to blue slopes but after working with Christian she realized that in many cases she enjoys skiing red slopes and even some black slopes more!
