I presented him a ID, which is valid California state and cash in hand and he refused to take it. tried to make a bs excuse that it was because my boyfriend didn't have an ID but he wasn't even buying anything or paying for anything. This a nice little neighborhood market. I originally came in to grab a quick lotto, but soon realized they had more to offer, including a butcher inside the market with some pretty good prices. The market also carries a variety of tortillas, some produce, lots of non perishables, dairy, wine and beers, etc. At the register, I did not really care for the guy there. He seemed annoyed when I ask him to run my numbers at the lotto machine. Yes he had to walk over to the other counter, but it was only three feet way. This man Frank asked me to go on Yelp and give him five stars so now I'm going to only give him one star. Reason being is your prices are too high and you don't give any donations to the community or show support like Skyline convince, they support our local high school & give donations for community parks and sport thank you (Gary). but you want the community's money you want the community to help you look good for Yelp. I seen a little boy go into his store the boy didn't have enough money for the item I believe he was 5 cents short Frank would not let him slide it was only 5 cents very very Petty. If you want to be for the community of skyline then do your due diligence for the community give back every once in awhile.I asked him, will he be able to donate ice for the Morse high School tigers football game he told me no. Right across the street from my driveway, I've been going here for years to pick up beer, use the ATM, and caffeine. Frank is awesome and so is everyone else. Every time I have been there they have never been out of stock of anything I am there for. Store is always well taken care of too. Great little store. Even open during worldwide pandemics such as the coronavirus so that's a plus for me. read more

All hail what a neighborhood market should be. Here's how I usually get into this store. One of two ways: 1) Making dinner, realized I forgot a can of tomato paste/rice/avocado/vinegar (basic stuff from the grocery store). Walk up to Skyline farms - there it is on the shelf! Place is about three times bigger than how it looks from the street. Seriously, it's got just about everything; unless you're looking for french black truffles in whale oil from the glands of left-handed humpback whales from Belize. You might need to hit up Henry's for that one. 2) Planning a BBQ. Not your everyday "throw a burger or two on the grill", BBQ. I mean a people for 25 miles in every direction are going to be sucking on charcoal smoke and carne asada goodness out of my backyard BBQ. They have everything but the grill (which is in my backyard, where it gets tore up from the floor up). Grilling highlights: Beer, wine, meat, guacamole, salsa, marinated chicken/beef (aka carne asada/pollo asado; few different ways). Also have "specials" where you buy a cow or two in bulk and it's super cheap. Go there. Don't drive to Vons/Albertsons/Ralphs/IGA/etc. You won't be disappointed. read more

I have been shopping here for over 35 years and never thought it was ghetto or sleazy. Since I live within walking distance you are calling me the same, not nice. i have taken the time to get to know the previous owners and these newer ones, but they have been here 15 years or more, not sure anymore, Frankie and his brother. Frankie is super sweet and goes the extra mile to be pleasant and helpful to his customers. Frankie is not the grouchy one other raters complain about. We went today to get stamps and he has as many as you need. First he came out to the parking lot to see my husband who has not been well to say hi and shake hands. How many store owners do that? I say, "you get what you give". His nephew is working now and learning from a great man. Frankie is always improving the store, adding this or that. The meat guy is super nice and I only buy the meat to make my "English" beef dinner from this store, plus roasts and steaks for dinners. The soda, beer, wine, liquor departments are outstanding and they have a huge selection of frozen ice cream novelties. Plus, as been mentioned, they have all other ingredients as you want for making your dinner!!! Even Kitchen Bouquet! I use that in my English dinner... When the weather warms up, and it's time to throw some carne asada on the grill.... it's time to roll up to Skyline. They sell seasoned and marinated carne and pollo. I've seen pork as well. They also have pure, unadulterated meats, and epic steaks. There are always deals going on, you don't even need a plan to roll in there and supply a nice cook-out. It's only ghetto if you're not FROM the area, don't be skeer'd! QUALITY meats, and FABULOUS prices.... As much as I love all this spring rain so I don't have to pay the water bill on my garden yet, I've got my mouth watering for warm summer days and piles of delicious meats! read more

I am normally not one to make a bad review but this deserves one. Went here after a recommendation from a friend. Ordered 10 lbs of carne asada, 7 lbs of pollo adobo and 7 lbs of pollo asada. Everything looked great. So yesterday we go to cook it and my husband cooks the pollo asada 1st. Smells good, looks good. He gets thru it and 1/2 of the pollo adobo and calls me outside to see something. There was a BANDAID in the marinade along with the chicken! We had 35 ppl in my back yard waiting for food and we had to throw 7lbs of it away cuz that is just plain ol nasty!!! Called yesterday and some rude guy says he can't do anything for us. Skyline Farm Market is located in somewhat of a shady neighborhood and looks a little ghetto from the outside but dont let appearances fool you! The people in the store are very friendly and I shop here mostly for thier package meat deals which are very reasonable in costs. The quality of their meats is excellent and they allow you to substitute 1 item for another on the package meat deals...ex. trading 3lbs of hotdog wieners for the equivalent value of pork ribs which is cool because then you dont get stuck with something you dont want.You can even phone in your meat orders ahead of time and pick them up apon arrival! Overall a good place to shop for fresh meats. read more

I used to come in here all the time but my last experience with them wasn't so great Picked up a Coconut water and a starbucks mocha frap Got to the register and realized the coconut water was covered in some nasty junk, decided not to get it and wasn't really a big deal Got in the car and sipped some of my mocha frap, of course tasted a little funny and realized it was about to expire in 2 days Cutting it kinda close in my opinion, I probably won't be going back read more
