The Marriott in Frankfurt is located in convenient location where everything is within your reach - closest Bahn(like subway) station is 2 minutes walk, Café in 5 minutes, mall/shopping center is 10-15min, convenient store/pharmacy in 6 minutes. Perfect for travelers who like to have a worry free trip with great coffee and dining in walkable distance. Great view from my room, and it's a very quiet room. Thanks for the concierge to arrange high floor. I like quiet for the room. There's business center downstairs and sauna on the first floor, complimentary for check-in customers. Price range surely on the high side, though couple days of peace and sanity are money can't buy :)

It's just 2 blocks away from the South entrance - which you should use because it's closer and safer. Most the homeless drug addicts seem to congregate in the street in front of the main entrance. We had a superior best view room with a superb view of the Frankfurt skyline. The room was small, basic and the fittings were a little dated. The bathroom was small but functional and we loved the rainshower. We arrived very early and we were very happy that the reception staff allowed us to check into our room straight away. The area around the hotel seems really safe, but if you want to eat or shop nearby you have to head towards the dodgy Hauptbahnhof. The bed was super comfortable so this is a good value option for a short stay near the Hauptbahnhof!

We were right across from a mall and a busy road, but it was quiet. We did not stay for breakfast, but it looked nice. The front desk personnel spoke fluent English - which was nice as our newly "learned" German was apparently terrible over there. The price was very reasonable.

It's around a 15 minute walk from the station to the hotel. Of all the locations I've been to, I think this one has a better lobby and bar. With other hotels and the convention center nearby, it's really easy to call a taxi or car service and the front desk staff is more than happy to help. I noticed that this latter service is much more obvious in this location compared to others. The customer service is incredible; five-star treatment. The staff are fluent in English, which is of great help. They've helped me find a nearby shoe repair shop along with the usual tourist recommendations of restaurants and sights. An added benefit is the Skyline Plaza right across the street, which is incredibly convenient. It's a good mall that even includes a Chipotle if you want a little taste of home (assuming you're also from the US).

At check-in I had to wait in the heat for 15 mins because the reception wasn't staffed. After inspecting the room, I asked for an extra pillow since theirs were paper-thin. Got nothing. The fridge didn't work and when I tried to see if it's a power/connection problem, I realised that the central heating was on and on full power - on the hottest day of the year (37C). Cherry on top: the air conditioning stopped working in the evening. I reported it to the reception (who had very poor English skills) where they said it's broken in my room. No offer of a solution, nothing. A terrible stay throughout.

Now for the bad: At checkout the cleaning staff had written down that we had taken a bottle of water. This was not true. The water was very expensive and the tap water is perfectly drinkable so we have no need to take the bottle. We told them it was a mistake and then the cleaning staff was called. The cleaning lady told the reception that she had taken an empty bottle from our room. The only person that could have emptied a water bottle in our room was the cleaning lady herself. There was no empty bottle! The hotel said that we had to pay for the bottle, at which point we got angry and said we would just leave. We waited five more minutes so the reception could make another call before we could finally leave. Not paying anything for water we did not use offcourse! More bad stuff: The air in the room is very dry and full of dust. It made us cough and snore all night. The beds are very hard. There is no place to put shampoo while in the shower. The beds are not made up. I have my own pillow. The bad cleaning staff just throws their (less clean) pillow on top of mine instead of placing it somewhere else on the bed. From the location I could visit Frankfurt and around (Heidelberg, Sanktgoarhausen, Wiesbaden). The neighbourhood is quiet, at least at night, since I wasn't in during the day. The street lights are no problem. If the curtain is not enough, you can pull down the blinds. It is safe too walking back alone at night (well, I felt so anywhere I went in Germany, as far as I could travel in any case). The room was always clean (i didn't mess up either, mind you). The receptionists were efficient and welcoming. You do have to pay extra for breakfast. But I always eat outside, even for breakfast, so no big deal. I did try the breakfast once. It was fine and generous enough for me. So all in all a very pleasant experience.
