We were able to see every other guest room and all were beautiful. This was our first time to Storm Lake, but we will most definitely return and stay at The Gables. We would have loved to have had more time to explore the antique shops and nice downtown - next time! We were pleasantly pleased and impressed! Dreamy Victorian/country decor and design. It's spacious and has a neat history! -Interesting use of closets to create bathrooms too! Lynne made us feel at home. She welcomed us at the door upon arrival, gave us a tour, we visited a little, then she gave us our privacy to enjoy. We had a loosely-planned schedule that took us to Ida Grove for wine tasting, a terrific meal, sight seeing and some hiking.  In the evening, we made a point to spend time on the porch at the B&B to sip some wine in some pleasant June weather. It was relaxing! Lynne, knowing these plans from our conversation upon arrival, was so thoughtful and left out two wine glasses along with a corkscrew to open our bottle of wine that evening. Breakfast on Sunday morning was delicious and delightful at a table next to paned windows overlooking the side yard.  We couldn't have been happier! We now have an amazing memory that we will share and tell for years to come! We think the price was very affordable! In fact, we plan to come back in the fall. We highly recommend the Inn at Battle Creek!

The indoor waterpark itself is nice, with bright lighting and a great area for small toddlers. They allowed kids on the big slides, which our children loved. The staff was friendly, but they couldn't answer basic questions--like whether life jackets were available (they are), what time the waterpark opened (9:30 on weekends), or how to get there (go to level 2 or 3 and at the end of the hall there is an elevator you can take to level 1 without having to go outside). The water could be a tad bit warmer as well. Our 2 yr old had to get out multiple times due to shivering so bad due to temp) The beds were comfortable, but the rooms are definitely outdated. The park nearby was great along with open grass area. I really want this place to succeed. There aren't a lot of options for indoor water parks or things to do without having to travel 6-7 hours from us so this is convenient. Overall it's clean and offers a lot to do without having to leave the resort. Just please get hot water for the showers, train your staff on easy questions people might ask them about the resort and spruce up the decor.

Unbelievable! The.staff.is.AMAZING! We arrived very late at night. It was a bitter cold Iowa night…read morearound 11:30. I had phoned ahead to tell them we were going to be late. From the moment we arrived, the service was beyond hospitable. The temperature was -19. We went to the room and the heater was working so hard it was screaming! We asked for a different room because we knew we could not sleep with the noise. The night clerk immediately switched us. Although the heater in the new room was not quite as noisy, it was still pretty bad. The next morning, we asked to be moved once again. Brent said he would go into every room to find one that was quiet. He found one. The day and night were still bitterly cold, but the heater was quiet. Two days later, we wanted to have a family gathering since we had not seen all the siblings for several months. We asked for recommendations of nearby places that we could get about 25 people together for lunch and visiting. Again, the Boulders staff came to the rescue. Once the breakfast area was cleaned, they said we could use that area and the beautiful lobby area to gather our family. It was extraordinary. I cannot give the ratings they deserve! You will not stay at a better place as far as friendly people and people who are willing to do almost anything to make your stay the best.

The breakfast the following morning was delicious and had lots of hot choices of breakfast items. I did forget two coats in a closet and several days later the hotel staff mailed both of my coats to me. I would gladly stay there again. I highly recommend it.
