Easy to find him when we got off the cruise ship with a big pink sign (I felt like a celebrity)! There were four of us and we had a can which made it easy to get in and out. No whales, but you can't plan on wild animals. Beautiful scenery on the way in and out, so bring the camera along. There are a lot of people on that boat, so get comfortable. This was an absolutely fantastic tour of Halifax and everything about it. Our guide Paul was so…read morepassionate and enthusiastic about Halifax and its history. Our tour lasted almost 7 hours and we were on a cruise ship and in Halifax for the day. He picked us right up at the port, had a sign with our names on it and there were 4 others with us in a nice van. A great small group of 6 people. We toured around the whole city, got to walk through the Public Gardens, stopped at the Citadel and saw the cannon fire at noon and the changing of the guard, learned so much about the explosion that killed many in Halifax and also learned things I did not know about the Titanic. We went to 2 different Titanic cemetaries and passed by even more. We stopped in a charming fishing village and had lunch at a local and delicious seafood restaurant. We could not have asked for a better day with a more enthusiastic host. He provided waters for us the entire day and also had a TV screen in the car to show us pictures and videos about all of the great stories he told us throughout the day. An absolutely fantastic tour that is a must do when visiting Halifax!

This is extremely helpful if you are traveling because it cuts down on what you have to bring, but it is also helpful if this is your first time kayaking. The boots that they provide are great and I highly recommend them. While you do not have to step into the water a lot, they will keep you feet warm if they get wet. They also have some jackets and gloves depending on what time of year you go out. The kayaks and paddles were all in good repair, and I saw all the safety equipment I would expect to see with a trip of this nature. Our guide Liam was very kind and funny. He added to the quality of the trip because of his knowledge of the geology and local tribal lore about the Bay of Fundy. Liam also provided good instruction about kayaking and made sure that the group was safe and successful. Now the location is what makes this trip amazing. We went on the high tide paddle which I would highly recommend. When we paddled out, you were able to paddle amongst the rocks of the three sisters, go into natural coves and amphitheaters and even two sea caves. It was great fun to be able to paddle through the arch at high tide as well. At the "midway" you make it to a beach where you are able to get out and we enjoyed a bowl of chili and some great snacks. While you are on the beach the tides turn and start flowing out so as you head back you see the speed at which the tides flow out of the Bay of Fundy. Areas that you previously kayaked through are now unaccessible because of the change of water height, so you see it through a whole new lens. The tidal change actually gives you a push back to where you put in, so the paddling is even easier on the way back in. The scenery here is unbelievable and we saw a bald eagle soaring overhead on our trip. Nova Shores puts together a great adventure.and I would return to take one of their longer trips as well. I learned so much about the mythology, geology, and ecology of this foggy corner of the earth, but I was most impressed by the good-natured warmth of character that emanates from every single person that works for this kayak tour company. They stoke contagious good humour and an inspired curiosity about the earth and all its creatures.

The staff hurried us down the cliffs right away because the tide was coming in and if we wanted to get a look we had to go immediately. We did so and managed a good beach walk before getting our feet wet in our rush back. The beach is dangerous when the tide is coming in so it is advisable to heed the staff's warnings. The beach has many samples of fossils just lying on the ground. You're not able to take away any samples but you can take away your photographs. The cliffs record in rock form many of the different geological eras as you walk down the path. It's lovely to see the plants, animal tracks, animal fossils, and evidence of geological events.

It's such a fun and unique way to explore the city! You start on land, taking in historic landmarks and beautiful views, then splash right into the harbour as the vehicle transforms into a boat. It's a cool experience whether you're a first-time visitor or a local looking to see the city from a new perspective. Our tour guide, Adina, was fantastic--full of energy, super knowledgeable, and made the whole ride engaging and fun. Big shoutout to Captain Geoff as well for the smooth and safe ride! We learned so much about the history of Halifax while also having a great time. It was so windy and rough that you could not hear anything they said nor could you see out of the glass due to the water splashing up on the boats windows. While I understand they have no control over the weather, I feel they should have canceled the trip and refunded our money and we could have found something else to do that we would have enjoyed.

Literally the worst KOA I have ever experienced. I paid for a 50 amp site. Once I arrived and got…read moresituated in my "50" amp site, I realized it was only 30 amp. When I returned to the office to let them know they informed me that they don't even have any 50 amp sites and clearly I had made a mistake. When I showed them my reservation, they did nothing but give me a snotty attitude. Now, even the 30 amp power is not working at my site. Oh, and this "Halifax" koa is nowhere near Halifax. It's a 30 minute drive. I'm currently still waiting for any power. Update: The manager did give me a full refund. And we moved to Neptune Campground which is lovely:)
