My company came here for an off-site last year so not only did we stay here, we took advantage of…read morethe entire facility for a couple of days. They have an awesome mural in the dining area and had several floors for 300 + people to utilize. The breakfast buffet consist of Irish breakfast and some additional continental options and it was superb. Overall the place had a really interesting live and felt pretty homie. It was about a 15-20 walk from the city center where all of the action was so it was close enough but also far away enough from all the craziness in sounds at night. There were also a couple shops in the area which was nice in case you wanted to eat elsewhere. My biggest gripe was that I personally didn't like staying at hostels, which doesn't really have anything to do with this place as it was a decision for the entire company to stay here. I personally like having my own space and the experience of sharing it with others was quite interesting. Luckily this hostile would be what I consider to be a fancier also because all the rooms had their own towels and their own bathrooms... Which I'm not sure is common or not but it's always nice to have your own bathroom as compared to point to a public shared bathroom. The other issue I did have and again I'm not sure if this is something common, the lack of AC during the summer. The rooms basically become the heat box and is unbearable to sleep in. Luckily we were able to ask for a fan and got the last one for a room. Do to some logistics we were house in a room on the fourth floor on the first day and then relocated to our permanent stay for the rest of our trip which was the ground floor. However it was right next to an outdoor seating area and you can't stop people from going there to chat at night because it's obviously a public area. So when you combine a chatty group of people plus an open window due to the heat and someone who's an extremely light sleeper... It all becomes a an unpleasant situation. As I've said I personally don't like staying at hostels but for what my company has selected this place was quite alright. Any time spent outside the rooms was quite pleasant overall.

This hostel has great amenities and large open common areas downstairs, which I appreciated…read more However, I want to share a few negatives from my experience so other travelers are aware before booking. I rarely leave negative reviews, but I felt this was worth mentioning. I had been traveling for over a day and a half and was extremely exhausted. I politely asked the front desk if there was anywhere I could sit and rest my eyes for a few minutes until check-in. The staff member immediately said no and made it clear that resting or sleeping anywhere in the lobby was not allowed. The interaction felt dismissive and not very friendly, and I noticed a similar tone when he was speaking with other guests. Another issue was the bathroom setup. I stayed on the second floor and there were no women's restrooms on that floor, so I had to go up and down the stairs each time I needed to use the bathroom. After check-in, I finally fell asleep because I was so exhausted, but I was suddenly woken up by loud pounding on my door( not a gentle knock )The staff member said he had made a mistake and placed me in the wrong room. I understand mistakes happen -- I've stayed in hostels all over the world -- but the way it was handled felt disruptive. As I was getting up to move rooms, he suddenly said I could just stay where I was. I had originally booked a four-bed female dorm because I hoped to meet other travelers, so having the room to myself wasn't really what I expected-but ultimately, I was grateful that I did have the room to myself so that was one positive He said he would make it up to me with a free breakfast token, but the breakfast ended up being very minimal (bread, cheese, yogurt, cucumber, and cereal). Overall, the atmosphere just didn't feel very welcoming. If you're looking for something friendlier with a better vibe, I would recommend Abbey Court Hostel instead -- the staff there are VERY kind, the common areas are lively- and they won't kick you out if you need to rest your eyes for 30 minutes and it feels much more inviting for travelers. I really do hate to leave a negative review, but this is mainly to make awareness to other travelers

Not a single room that we were placed in looks like the lovely colorful pictures here on Yelp…read more There are 40 people in our group, every single room had plain white sheets, duvet, one flat pillow, a desk and desk chair. Do not think you're getting anything bigger than a twin bed. Even a few rooms have two frames, but only one mattress. Reception confirmed they do not have anything but twin beds. Make sure your doors actually lock: the 4 doors in my students' hall do NOT lock - not an option. It doesn't matter than the apartment (outer) door locks - you may have strangers assigned rooms on your hall. Double check everything before unpacking: do the lights work? Do you have towels? Etc... It saddens me to think college students live here for months on end - they deserve better. There was no hot water for the five rooms in our apartment for 24 hours - we had to figure out for ourselves to click "on" on the device in the common hall. Then we discovered there was another setting that hot water was off from midnight to 730am. Bring your own drinks & snacks: there isn't any vending machines or the like. Registration desk is less than helpful: any problem faced was met with very little care or concern. In fact, the words, "Well, this isn't a hotel" were uttered, I guess as an excuse? The desk closes at 11pm (so don't forget your key in the room - you're stuck). On the plus side, if this is still where you need to stay, it is clean & there are beds & with the cool temperatures, you don't need air conditioning. The staff who made the breakfast worked hard and served a delicious meal!
