Although we live in the area, this was our first visit to Slanted Window. Parking was easy and convenient. We entered on a Sunday afternoon, and quickly noticed that we could seat ourselves. If I could give them 10 stars I would! We have been here several times and not only is the service always amazing, but the food is delicious! We've had many different types of their flat bread, and every one is a 10/10. Even the vegan flatbread exceeded our expectations. The beet salad is one of the best I've ever had as well. We've been coming here since it opened--easily 10 times now-and we're consistently happy with our meals. We split our time between Franklin, NC and South Florida, and I have to say, this spot is one of our favorite "nicer" places to eat in town. The Cuban sandwich is always amazing, and coming from a Cuban family from South Florida, that really says something! The wine list features local North Carolina wines, and if you tell your server the kind of wine you usually enjoy, they're great at guiding you to the right choice. The restaurant itself is small (it used to be an old gas station), but the décor is wonderful. I love the roll-up doors--on spring, summer, and fall days, the fresh air makes the whole place feel so inviting. Wanted to try someplace new in Franklin and landed on Slanted Window based upon their excellent reviews. Wow... We were really impressed. Old converted gas station with a small but lovely space indoors and an outdoor patio that accepts dogs. They even have a special menu item just for your dog! We were warmly greeted and able to sit wherever we wanted. Service was fast and charming, and everything was unbelievably delicious. We started with the smoked trout dip, which was fresh and perfectly flavored. My husband ordered the bourbon tasting flight and was very excited to try some local bourbons he wouldn't otherwise have had the opportunity to taste. He even wound up buying a new local bottle. We split the beet salad with added chicken and it was perfect. All the ingredients were super fresh, loads of beets and goat cheese, and these most delicious almonds. It was a large enough serving for us to share and we both really enjoyed it. My son ordered the pulled pork sandwich and it was also amazing. It was served with chips and it was a massive serving, he couldn't even finish it all. Prices were reasonable based upon the quality and quantity of food you received, and it was so clean and quaint. It was a most unexpected delightful dining experience starting with our very personable waiter, Frank, telling us how the restaurant got it's name and the uniqueness of the drink menu being wines and bourbons, and spirits from North Carolina... He made us the best Old Fashioned I've ever tasted.. The beet salad was large enough for two and wonderful. My husband had a bbq brisket sandwich served on home made faccaccia bread.. I am not a meat eater so I ordered the vegan flat bread made with their special homemade hummus. I loved everything about this restaurant. It is off the main drag in Franklin but it is most definitely a special find and and I can't wait to come back for more... Highly recommend it... read more

A most delightful outdoor experience. I started with a glass of Prosecco and a delicious beet salad. Followed by a shared flatbread of artichoke and goat cheese. The food was fresh and beautifully served. The waiter was fun and interesting ( thanks Frank). This could be one of my favorite spots in Franklin. Found Slanted Window yesterday from an Instagram algorithm. We saw that for National Dog day they were hosting people and pets with an adoption event with Appalachian Animal Rescue. We loaded up our golden and went for a drink and a bite. A cute renovated service station. I love a sustainable moment of using the buildings and spaces provided. We got a beverage each, Rose for me and a Bourbon Southern Cross for him. Additionally we snacked on a charcuterie board and our golden had a pup ice cream. Also I totally forgot to flag our gluten allergy but they were happy to provide gluten free crackers that were actually tasty. A very lovely stop on our adventures today. The flatbread was delicious, and the Caprese was truly fresh with a side of fresh greens for an explosion of flavor. We also had the peanut butter chocolate cake......and we will just leave as something your taste buds will not forget. We had the flight of wine and tasted all 6 of the wines offered for 23$, and it did not disappoint. The waiters are friendly, informative, and they take great care of you. The owner, sweet man who cares about his business and making you happy and feel welcome. Came here twice when we were in town. One for a wine tasting, we honestly loved every wine we tasted (but big big fans of the whites). Second time, a Sunday evening when there was live music, a fire, and to celebrate our recent engagement. The owner heard we were celebrating and made us feel so special! Loved the charcuterie board. We had the Vegan board and flight of wine (really liked Mel's melee)and added some salami and gluten free crackers. It was so good we had to come back the next day and do it again. Family tried the summer salad and chicken salad and the rustic sandwich. Everything was yummy. This is a really cute and fun place! Factions from a 50s gas station, they have wine, whiskey, and small plates available. Live music and events are offered also. Great place to go for a chill night with friends and family! Service was very accommodating also.
