We arrived @ 530 pm on a Tuesday, nobody there, we sat right down however within 30 minutes, just about every seat was taken. So having a little head start from the crowd service was fantastic. I loved that we each got our own little personal "stove" and didn't have to share, because "Joey doesn't share food" lol I opted for the 2 protein choice equivalent to 8oz. Have walk past this restaurant for years and never tried it. Finally decided to give stop in with a friend and I'm so glad I did. The ingredients were all fresh and the soup tasted great and they offer free refills on veggies. Overall, it's a nice spot when the weather is cold outside. Came at noon on a Saturday and there was no wait. Service was impeccable. They refilled our waters, adjusted our stoves, and topped off our broths frequently. The quality is also great. I recommend the glass noodles even though they're extra, because they really soak up the soup flavors. The ramen is also handmade, not freeze dried, which is nice. Stopped by for a very late lunch on a weekday and it was so empty but soooooo good! This shabu spot is located in the heart of downtown fullerton and is on the smaller side. Our server was super cool and friendly! Lots of variety in meat choices and definitely one of the more customizable shabu spots I've been to. Prices are high but worth it. I ordered the 6 oz 1855 Black Angus Prime Ribeye per our server's recommendation and was not disappointed! Meat was sliced into large pieces and was tender. Ponzu and goma were both very good as well! We were concerned about the fact that you have to pay for extra sauce because we tend to use a lot and other shabu places we've been to don't do that and it looks like there isn't much sauce on the plate but the openings are actually pretty deep so it's definitely enough sauce! I do feel like the veggie portion was a bit on the smaller side but it was perfect for me. I also really liked the presentation of my food. It came in a bento box which was very convenient in saving space on the table because usually eating shabu involves a million dishes that crowd the table! The 6 oz of meat wasn't enough for me so I got a soup base at the end and ended up getting full! I def recommend using their spicy sesame oil to add some spice and flavor to your meat and soup! I'm still in level beginner when it comes to Shabu Shabu but I'm not too far from intermediate level. Met with my friends here for the first time around 6:30 pm on a Monday, November 25th. My go-to/favorite Shabu Shabu place so far is Broth in Cerritos. Unfortunately it's not all you can eat, but it is filling and very good. They are located in Downtown Fullerton off Harbor Blvd. and if you can't find street parking there's a lot on the west side of Harbor Blvd. off Amerige and it's a tiny walk to the restaurant. Seating is counter seating and I would say it's a medium sized location. Your order comes out on a tray and the broth in a bowl and you basically dunk everything in the broth. Service was fast in the beginning and then the crowd started to build inside and it slowed down a little towards the end. By the time we left, it was completely full in there and when we arrived there was one other party there and completely empty. If you're in the mood for a nice place to have Shabu Shabu that's not a chain then Slice is the spot. I think it's great for dates or small gatherings of 3 or 4 friends. read more

FYI, we had milk teas and snacks at Duoduo Snacks center in the morning so still full. We ordered 3 x 12oz portions and extra noodles for the kids and we cooked for them. We were a party of four but it was a little trick y seating-wise as there is only a high or low bar option for seating. I should have checked that before going- I just assumed there were actual tables. Or service was absolutely wonderful! Our server was very attentive and offered more broth and vegetables often. The three stars are for the gluten free options only. There is one gluten free broth option- kombu. A quick Google search revealed this is made by boiling dried kelp. However, the broth tasted like hot tap water- no flavor save the slightly chemical flavor of the tap water. There was a tasty gluten free ponzu sauce that I dipped my food into directly to in order to give the food some flavor. I even tried putting a copious amount in my broth to up the flavor, but it got watered down quickly. The gluten feee option for noodles, glass (rice) noodles cooked up nicely and were an additional cost. The meat and veggies were of good quality. Our server was a bit apologetic regarding the lack of options for gluten-free folks like myself, and even said she would check in about getting more options in the future. If they did so, I would give it another try, but until then I'm afraid to say that we won't be back. read more

You get vegetables and vermicelli noodles and can pick 2 sauces. I felt that the broth was pretty bland and the meats while good, I couldn't really distinguish from other hot pot places I've been to. It's much more Americanized than most shabu restaurants. The vegetable selections included uncommon veggies for shabu such as onions, broccoli, and carrots - which I did not care for as opposed to mushrooms and more cabbage or pumpkin at other places. It also came with a small amount of udon and rice (you can get a refill on veggies and rice). For meat, I chose the smallest meat portion of 4oz of beef belly. It's enough if you want a lighter meal. The sauces and broth (miso) were good, but my biggest complaint is that it's so awkward to reach far across the bar for yourself to grab items from your soup. Also you cannot control the heat on your broth yourself because the controls are on the other side of the bar where only the servers and see and reach. Been coming to this place for over 15 years, through all of the name and ownership changes. It used to be great food and service. This last time I went with my family (June 2025), the 2 waitresses were incredibly rude and gave us so much attitude simply for asking for garnishes, dishes, a straw....really anything. The waitresses were audibly complaining to each other simply because we asked for garnishments. After the garnishments were finally brought to us, they were snatched away and brought to another table. The restaurant offers one free refill on rice, sauce, and a small portion of vegetable....however, they refused to give anyone in our entire party any refills of anything except water because my daughter ate a couple of noodles from my wife's plate. On top of this awful customer service, their prices have literally more than doubled over the years...If prices are going to be doubled, I don't expect the attitude to be doubled as well. If you're looking for an enjoyable experience, I suggest you go somewhere else. read more
