I have been going to Sloans for a few years now as a regular but not frequent customer.
The experience varies according to how busy they are. I get good treatment if they are quiet. They quite obviously have a lot of very happy, very frequent customers who the staff are on very friendly terms with. I don't fall into that category although I must say that Sandra who has been doing my hair is friendly and generally does a good job.
I have frontal fibrosing alopecia which is a very embarrassing condition and am losing my hair at the front but I still need to have my hair kept short and as tidy as possible. I have kept going to Sloans, even though I have moved away from Glasgow, to save myself the embarrassment of going to another hairdressers. However after yesterdays experience I will not be back.
I was early when I went in yesterday but I still do not think that warrants being ignored by the staff. Eventually Sandra came over and asked me to take a seat but no one offered to hang my coat up and I was just invisible. I know they were busy but I booked my appointment on line almost three weeks before the date so it was not my fault if they had overbooked since that date. The girl who did my hair wash was abrupt to the point of rudeness. I paid £30 for what was essentially a trim because I have so little hair at the front. When I came to pay Mrs Sloan on the reception desk could hardly be civil to me, let alone pleasant. Having travelled for over 2 hours on a journey that involved three buses just to get there it was a disappointing experience.
I will just have to find a hairdressers nearer home and put up with the embarrassment because the experience couldn't be much worse read more
