I've spent time in some incredible theme parks, including Japan, which I generally consider the gold standard. Surprisingly, Tivoli may be the closest thing I've experienced to matching that level of magic, and in some ways, it surpasses it. What makes Tivoli special isn't the rides. It's the atmosphere. You can spend an entire day here without riding a single attraction and still have an amazing experience. The gardens are beautiful, the grounds are immaculately maintained, and every corner feels thoughtfully designed. There are live performances, restaurants, cafés, bars, and plenty of places to simply sit, relax, and enjoy the surroundings. The food options are far better than what you'd expect from a traditional amusement park, and the overall crowd experience is refreshingly pleasant. People were friendly, the park never felt overwhelming, and there was a sense that everyone was genuinely enjoying themselves. What I appreciated most was that Tivoli functions as a true community gathering place. It's not just a collection of rides designed to separate visitors from their money. It's a destination where locals and tourists alike come to spend time, enjoy culture, eat well, listen to music, and take in the scenery. Of everything we experienced in Copenhagen, Tivoli Gardens was the highlight. Whether you're traveling with young children, visiting as a couple, or simply looking for a beautiful place to spend an afternoon, this is an absolute must-visit. If Copenhagen has one attraction that lives up to the hype, it's Tivoli Gardens.

Overpriced tourist attraction that is a dated amusement park. Rides are additional but are outdated…read moretoo. The adjoining Tivoli eating center is also overpriced and overcrowded and overrated. They market it to tourists as a place that inspired Walt Disney and it's an "experience"and also that there are gardens within the park. No such gardens. I saw others just taking photos of flowers that were in pots.... Other amusement parks plant flowers for decorations too but don't market themselves as "gardens" if they aren't really such. Very misleading. Very disappointing. We waited for the lights to go on after dusk for part of this "experience". No great light experience. They were just normal lights that light up the park at night and not some awesome experience... very disappointing too. Watched some Charlie chaplain type of show that we couldn't quite understand what was happening so left early... Walt Disney may have been slightly inspired but not much. Can't see any similarities between this place and Disneyland. Disneyland is 100 times better. Highly not recommend wasting your money and time here.

Ok, folks here are the rules: 1. No resy's first come, first serve 2. 100 patrons can fit, seating is limited 3. Hours: Monday-Thursday, Friday-Saturday opens at 8pm, show starts at 9pm. You need time to grab a drink from the bar, no table service. Beer @60 krones 4. Setting: intimate and cozy. 5. Get there at least 30 minutes before showtime to be guaranteed a seat, hands stamped and pay 140 krones for entrance fee 6. Then..... sit, back, enjoy and let the jazz seep through your veins as it did mine. 7. Check their website for shows and time. ( sorry Yelp, hours listed were incorrect) I saw a great show with Jules Fisher and his very talented quartet ( see video). Absolutely wonderful! This is the type of jazz club I love, people listening to great jazz, humming a familiar tune, clapping, bopping and enjoying the show in an intimate setting. Sunday is free thus tonight what I'm paying for is my drinks and listening to great music. The entire staff are wonderful, cool, friendly and love being here. Love jazz, love La Fontaine! Location: a bit difficult to find: take M2 or M3 to Gammel Strand station, find Hermes shop and walk all the way down until you find La Fontaine. It is before Comedy Zoo place. La Fontaine has a small banner and entrance is behind a large wooden door. It is located on a little street, Kompenstrade.

They played perfect music for a comfortable hangout with friends, on weekends they have live jazz! Also, what I liked was, that smoking was only allowed in a separate small room (no door, but still). Totally recommendable!
