One of the only places for a stiff drink on the entire Denali Hwy! Lee was our bartender, he was a former bush pilot and had great knowledge to share about the area. They've got a couple beers (nothing on tap), a couple wines, liquor, and simple, heated-up-for-you food. Oh, they also have ice cream for those lucky among you who can eat it without massive gut pains! (envious) I love the name, it sounds very drunky, like "The Slammer" or something. BUT, it's an actual piece of gold mining equipment! If you drink too much you can stay at the lodge that's located only a brief stumble up hill. read more
