My brother-in-law and I spent some time in the toy section and we both actually ended up leaving with some teddy bears. His was only $3, and when he looked it up in the store it was worth up to $70--he was so excited about that find! I did notice a slightly awkward interaction between an older female employee and another customer browsing near the VHS/DVD and jewelry counter. The employee called out "next," which made it seem like she thought the customer was ready to check out. When the customer didn't respond right away, the employee called out louder to get her attention kinda sounded annoyed. The customer looked a little caught off guard and replied that she was just browsing before continuing to look around. It was a bit of an odd moment, but when that same employee ended up checking us out, everything went smoothly and we had no issues. Overall it was a fun thrifting trip and I'd definitely come back again. Next time I want to spend more time exploring the clothing section!

They now offered the owner Peter Kwong $100 a year instead of their regular contract. This is likely the only CPU that accepted such a ridiculous offer but Peter wanted to keep it open for the community, especially the elders that need this service. Peter has been operating at a loss for the last 26 year but now he will really be bleeding red. The workers need their job and the community needs this USPS. I know there has been comments about their service but please give grace to the older worker and please support its cause. We are fighting for the community so hope you all can do the same but making this USPS your go to USPS.

When I knocked and said, "You saw me come in before 5," I was told, "You should have been in this room. We close at 5," after which the lights were turned off. I then watched other employees laugh, which was a particularly professional touch. I understand closing time policies. What I don't understand is being treated rudely when I was already inside the building and attempting to complete a transaction in good faith. Extremely frustrating and disappointing experience at the Atwater Post Office…read more I went in simply to purchase a money order and needed to split the payment--$500 on my debit card and the remainder in cash. This should not have been an issue. However, the clerk told me I could not tap my debit card and that I needed the physical card. When I explained that I paid for a money order the exact same way last month at this same location, she dismissively said, "It's new." That makes absolutely no sense. If this is truly a "new" policy, it's clearly not being communicated consistently or professionally. It completely defeats the purpose of having a debit card stored securely on my phone if I'm suddenly not allowed to use it--especially when I wasn't attempting anything unsafe or unusual. I wasn't bypassing a PIN or doing anything improper. The lack of consistency, poor explanation, and unhelpful attitude made a simple transaction unnecessarily stressful. This post office seriously needs better training, clearer policies, and improved customer service. I left annoyed and disappointed over something that should have taken minutes.
