This place is excellently delicious, the people are nice, there is free WiFi and the seating is ample. Always busy, but you can find a place to sit down and plug in your laptop. The food sometimes takes a very long time,and the people behind the counter often forget to give you part of what you ordered, but they are usually pretty nice about it. The coffee is not brewed right though, and always tastes burnt or fishy or something. I will go here if I am hungry and in the area, but I will stick to tea. read more

Fabulous coffee, very good chocolate croissant, and excellent chicken salad sandwich on baguette with cranberries. Definitely worth the visit. This cafe is very close to the downtown Marriott and the financial district, so if you are visiting your student in Providence, be sure to stop here for your chocolate and caffeine fix as well as a tasty lunch. read more

Cool little spot downtown. Funky decor and an eclectic vibe. We all had breakfast croissants and they were tasty! I would say the ham egg and cheese was all piled up in the middle leaving the sides of the croissant empty. I spread it all out and that made eating it that much better. We would defiantly go back next time we are in town. Flakiest (is that a word?) croissant in Providence. That's a win in my book. read more

Such a homey environment. I only got a cappuccino and a bagel but it felt as if I was all cozed up in my living room having breakfast. The guys who work there are super sweet and the plan is kept neat and clean. My cappuccino had a dog on it.. Cutest thing I've ever seen!! Was in Providence last week and looking for coffee and breakfast and quiet while waiting for my charming boyfriend to arrive found Small Point to be a great place! Coffee is good they have the typical selections-mocha was just fine. Also a healthy selection of great teas if coffee isn't your thing. Breakfast-they had hot sandwiches or pastries I chose a ginger apple scone that was one of the best baked goods I have ever had. Lunch menu I didn't get to try-but looked like they have some amazing and creative sandwiches as well as some old standbys-and a nice looking selection of cookies/brownies for dessert. The place also has a really nice vibe to it, friendly baristas (sign out front said they were psychic but I didn't test that out so can't comment on it). read more

I had an absolutely amazing experience here! The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. They had amazing gluten free and vegan options and seemed to really care about the community that they are a part of and the world at large. Plus they make some adorable latte art. I am new to the area and have come here a couple times. I am in the restaurant industry and am familiar with how it works. I was craving a good breakfast and drove over to Small Point. I was literally the first customer today and ordered, got my order in to go, got my coffee right away (which was fantastic) then waited for at least ten minutes to get my avocado toast. I figured, they had just opened so it taking time didn't bother me but when I got home they had completely screwed up my order. I was frustrated/disappointed and wouldn't have given a tip for the service I received today BUT they use the app/iPad payment where you add your tip before the service is carried out. Paying a little extra for good food and service is something I am down for, it's just annoying that I started my day this way and tipped them for it. read more

Downtown Providence is seeing its share of new businesses move in, which is always welcoming. And if you are like me and get excited anytime you hear about a new business moving into Downtown then come check out Small Point Cafe on Westminster St. in the heart of Downcity. This recently opened java joint and more has filled a void on Westminster Street with great pastry, breakfast sandwiches and of course its coffee. Owners Anne Wolfe and Adam Buck have created a Green Cafe with a great atmosphere. Plenty of seating and brick walls for that restored Manhatten loft feeling. If you are there before the crowd you can sink into a leather sofa or chair and relax. No pretentiousness here. You will feel welcomed in this neighborhood cafe. Small Point Cafe is a pretty new coffee-shop that was open this year 2011. So far I like it. The staff is friendly and the coffee is rich, smooth and tasty plus they have sandwiches, pastries, juices and cookies. The space is a decent size, and simple eclectic decor. The only thing I don't like about these place is the name. Sounds boring and bla., besides that i like it and I go there often. read more

Great working atmosphere. The food is really good and at a reasonable price. The only problem that I have with it is that the team is pretty "over it" and you feel pretty weird asking them any questions about the menu, asking for water, etc. I'd definitely recommend it if you are looking to get some work done. read more

This place is really good. Only downside is they are EXTREMELY slow. I've always had to wait a while when I go here. Not a grab and go coffee place. Looks like the espresso machine only makes one at a time so it can get backed up. I live in the neighborhood which is why I will continue to go, and it's one of the only cafes with food around, but I never go when I'm in a rush. read more

Sweet as all get-out little hippie coffee shop in the epicenter of downtown Providence, such as it is. I straggled in at 7.30am on a Monday morning, famished (having flown into town the night before, when everything was closed, and totally skipped dinner). This is one of the best breakfast and study spots I found in Providence. Amazing (and filling toast) and a good lavender latte. My only complaints lie in the fact that the staff was so overwhelmed that my order was incorrect and the coffee was mostly ice (I loved it so much that I wanted more bang for my buck) but overall it was INCREDIBLE and I would totally come back to this spot :) read more

I had a few early morning hours to kill in Providence due to the MBTA train schedule, so I popped in here on Yelp recommendations. Well thanks for that Yelp, because this place was awesome. Location: On an awesome block of Westminster street that seems to be transitioning all at once--full of fun shops, bookstores, and cafes. Atmosphere: Free (and fast) wireless, super-comfy leather chairs, plenty of people hanging out to do work but also enough people socializing that it doesn't have that "everyone is plugged into their laptops and headphones, why am I in some sort of freelance factory" feeling. Coffee: Amazing. I had an iced Mexican mocha, and loved it. It tasted like real coffee. I normally never order something beyond basic coffee, iced coffee, or cappuccino. Maybe a cafe au lait. So this was an awesome surprise, in that it tasted like real food instead of syrup. I returned another time to get an iced tea, and it was equally delicious and quality. So were the quiche and the soup. If I had a place like this in my neighborhood, I would spend ridiculous sums of money there. read more

Nice little spot right on Westminister St. The staff was very friendly, place was clean & decorated cute, they could use some help in the music department but that's just my taste. Call ahead to make sure they still have baguettes. They tend to sell out of them during the lunch rush, and they make a killer sandwich.

Had a pretty good egg sandwich one time. The coffee is awful though. Burnt both times. This time I walk in and the place is dead. I paid $10 for a "large" coffee and a breakfast sandwich. The bagel was barley toasted and the sandwich looked like a 5 year old put it together. read more

I was really excited to try out this cafe but ended up disappointed. I'm into trying small businesses and places off the beaten path for coffee. I walked in to get a coffee drink. There were three people behind the counter engaged in their own conversation. I somewhat felt like I interrupted them. While I was ordering, I felt they were unfriendly. After I got my iced coffee, I asked if there was any milk substitute I could use since I have an allergy. They slapped a few on the counter and said, "Here". All in all the coffee was just ok, but strong, and the service was so-so. read more

Not a bad little place. Friendly service, nice tea selection, and in an area that sorely needs a trendy but accessible cafe. The selection of couches and cards are particularly nice. It's also right next door to a good Korean and Japanese restaurant, making it a nice pre or post meal hangout.
