With utmost gratitude I write this!…read more I am a beyond proud alumnus of this kind and loving school! I graduated from MIT last spring 2025 and I couldn't have aspired so high if it wasn't for my extraordinary teachers who pushed me to excel when I thought I couldn't. I remember most their words of encouragement and how special I felt day after day. I hold you all forever preciously in my heart.

I enrolled my child at Children's Home Montessori School after being presented with a vision that…read moreappeared consistent with traditional Montessori principles. However, our experience did not align with those expectations. One concern was the school's limited parent access. Parents are not permitted in classrooms or the building during the school day, making it difficult to observe the learning environment or interact directly with teachers and staff. During our child's enrollment, communication with the school was primarily through email, and it was often difficult to speak directly with staff regarding concerns. Over several months, our child consistently expressed reluctance to attend school. She reported that teachers and students were hitting her, that teachers frequently raised their voices, and that she felt uncomfortable during nap time. When we brought these concerns to the school's attention, we did not feel the responses adequately addressed them. On another occasion, our child came home with visible marks on her neck and shoulders. We reported the incident and sought clarification, but the explanation provided did not fully resolve our concerns. As time went on, we noticed increased anxiety related to school, including crying when discussing attendance and visible distress in school photos. Ultimately, we decided to withdraw our child. Every family's experience may be different, but based on our experience, the school did not provide the level of transparency, communication, or environment we were expecting. Prospective parents may want to ask detailed questions about parent access, communication policies, and incident-reporting procedures before enrolling.

My eldest stayed from 2-5 and my younger one stayed for a year and a half. The classes/teachers kept our kids engaged and supported their learning. We felt like we were part of a family at the school, as most of the teachers and staff are constantly helping all of the students out. The school was just right for us. There was a basic curriculum for learning and prepping for kindergarten. There is a typical morning drop off and pick up. That is up to the parents schedule. For safety, there is a key fob for entry so that no one can just waltz in. There are outside activities to keep them busy. There is reading, writing, play time, history, science, art, 2 snack times, a lunch, and even nap time for the little ones! The lunch and snacks are not given and parents must provide the meals, but on Fridays are pizza day. Summer camp provides snacks. For when the little ones have to go, the staff are all accommodating to assisting the kids. For the younger kids under 2, I am unsure as our kids didn't attend under those ages. The school has taught our daughters to have better social skills, help them with manners, use practical reasoning, interest in various books, music, education. The school even gave an open house and parent/teacher meeting(s). There are a couple of organized performances for the older ones including a music performance for preK 3 class and a graduation for the preK 4 class. I can go on and on and rant and rave but when it comes down to it, the school was perfect for our children and I can't thank all the teachers and staff for watching over our kids and giving them as much care as if they were their own. The other parents in the classes were just as supportive and we even had multiple play dates, birthday parties, and meet ups. Take my hand really built a community. I can honestly say that this school was one of the best things that happened for our daughters. I can't even begin to list everyone that have helped our kids our over there, but I am sure that they would do the same for any other kids looking to attend. I've seen mixed reviews online. Some really good experiences and some that didn't par with expectations. But I am here to say that it was perfect for our family and 2 daughters. The only downside is that your kids grow up and move on, but at least I am confident knowing that Take My Hand gave my girls some tools to use when they start new academics. - Stella and Penelope

My husband and I noticed how fast he developed and advanced academically. She was kind, loving, and always kept the kids busy with various activities over the course of the day. Ms. Peralta left suddenly a few months after we started, and things immediately took a turn for the worst. In fact, it seems like many of the experienced teachers had left this year, and the administration chose to promote the assistant teachers, who were highly inexperienced and lacked the proper training and qualifications. During the few months we stayed at the school after Ms. Peralta's departure, my son was moved from the toddler classroom to the preschool classroom. This was a complete disaster. His new teacher had a short temper. It was almost daily when my son would come home and tell me that his teacher was angry. I had heard from other parents in the class that they had noticed her temper as well and addressed it with director. She did not invest in the kids education, and was constantly having them sit on the floor as they passed the time. It had turned into more of a daycare than a school. My son even started forgetting the numbers and alphabet he learned in Ms. Peralta's class. His new teacher did not invest any time in the curriculum or his education. This isn't even the worst of it. A few weeks before our departure, I received a call from the school director reporting an incident that had taken place. Apparently the kids had returned from their daily play on the playground, and my two year old son was forgotten outside and left alone on the playground! Thankfully, another teacher saw him and reported the situation to the director. The director informed me that she had the intention of addressing it with the teacher and other staff. Regardless, I was absolutely livid to hear this. After this incident there continued to be no improvement in the quality of care or education, so we decided to pull him out permanently. I hope this review helps prospective parents make an informed decision on where to send their child. As I mentioned in the beginning, it is all dependent on the proper teachers. It seems like all the experienced teachers left during covid, and the administration made some poor choices with the teachers they hastily hired. I would also like to note that the school director and assistant director genuinely cared and wanted to work with our family on resolving these issues. However, it just got the the point where there were so many issues with the teacher that we could not stay at this school.

I like how it's on a residential street in a quiet neighborhood. The kiss and drop in the front of the building is really helpful for rushed mornings. The summer school was fantastic. They had activities EVERY DAY. Every night my son would look at the calendar and we would talk about the next day's event. He made a stuffed unicorn, slime, went to a circus show, science show, water play days, bounce houses...too much to list! It's very, very clean and my son never got sick once! Besides safety, my other most important things were low student to staff ratio and preparing my son to read on their own, both of which they have covered. They have open enrollment all year and offer daily tours which was helpful as I was able to pop in on a lunch break. They also had a generous sibling discount which several of the families used! We wanted a space where our child could grow, explore and develop their own sense of curiosity and TMH exceeded all of that. With the evolution of technology assisting in all aspects of our lives now; a learning experience that is grounded on building blocks and a hands on approach was fundamental when we were looking for early education. Not all children learn the same and the teachers do a great job at tailoring their approach to each and focus on their curiosities. Every part of the curriculum is so thoughtful and intentional. Some of the smallest activities are teaching them a skill that eventually becomes something bigger.  It's amazing to witness and the parents get a chance to see this first hand during parent visit days. "I didn't know my child could do that" is a common sentiment I hear amongst the parent group.  Beyond the curriculum - Our child will be completing the kindergarten program after having spent 3 years in the school and she couldn't be more excited. Her early days were supported by the older friends in the class and now she gets a chance to do the same. They are now some of her closest friends and the parents too!  The level of confidence and independence they have developed along the way has been nothing short of amazing. Having witnessed many of the friends in the class grow into their own personalities throughout the years have been fun to see. It's no surprise that families often enroll their siblings to TMH even after the older ones have graduated!
