I love this place…read more It's massive, the biggest B&M I've ever seen. There is even a huge garden centre at the back and parking so you can transport all your wares. I really like B&M though the products to tend to be a little inconsistent. They always have a large range of non perishable food and the things they do have are around half the price of the supermarket alternatives and in many cases cheaper than the pound shops round the corner. The things that impressed me on this visit was the sheer range of household/kitchen implements for big names like Tefal or Kenwood at very low prices. I would dare say that the range is even better than you'll find in IKEA. This particular store had larger items like TVs, heaters and even Silentnight beds. They also seemed to have a huge amount of halloween things this time, way better than anywhere else Id seen. I ddn't get to see the gardening area properly but from the outside it also looked huge. Picked up a toilet seat whilst i was there. Went to fit the toilet seat today and there are pieces missing, and one of the bolts does not fit. Clearly a faulty return that had just been put back on the shelf. No doubt when I return they will be apologetic - but its just not good enough. Their lack of knowledge, incompetency etc. costs their customer wasted time, and money. Shop there if you want this kind of service

Let down a little by the staff who seemed a little like the hibernating plants and devoid of much excitement or indeed information. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt as I intend to head back there for more supplies over the coming months. Its got a cute little set-up right on the edge of Victoria Park and has an extra gate onto the canal so if you're strolling you might pop by.

The selections they had were plentiful and the staff was helpful and knowledgeable. Finally, weeks after the rain, we decided to return here and pick plants. We bought a smorgasbord of trailing flowers, herb plants and tomatoes. Its great! They even accomated us to do out planting there since we have no place to plant at home. They even provided us with tools to do the planting. As for their location, it is conveniently located just around the corner from Victoria Park and next to Regents Canal. Overall, we are happy to have found Growing Concerns.

He was lucky I was in a good mood and did not want to start confrontation for his ugly behaviour in front of my child... he is an extremely bigoted person as he made me very uncomfortable with his rude antics...people like him made this world really unpleasant place for black and ethnic minority people...

I sadly don't have a garden, but I love dropping in just to browse. They have a small outside section with a good variety of plants which vary with the season. It's almost like visiting an actual garden. Inside is also immaculately presented, with a small but good range of seeds, pretty pots, garden ornaments, etc. The staff are friendly too. In fact, it would be fair to say that my…read moremost successful gardening moment to date was aged 9, growing cress from a yoghurt pot with the rest of Primary 5. Recently however, I've had a revelation and I am now growing not one, but six (!) different herbs. Although off-put occassionally by rouge squirrels having a nosey, last weekend I successfully grew them to the height that repotting was required. Not up for treking out to one of the mega gardening centres, I was very pleased to discover that only 10 minutes walk away was the beautiful North One! This little garden centre is small but perfectly formed. As well as stock a range of pot plants and herbs, they have every type of seed, soil, pot and cane imaginable. Prices are however, a bit more steep than you would get in one of the chains. I was a bit taken a back to discover that a cute purple bench, just big enough for two but no more was selling for £250. Needless to say I left that one to someone that might be feeling a bit more flash than myself! Now I've put my gardening kitty to use I can safety assure you that Mr Mint, Lord Thyme, Miss Chives, Sir Sage, Prof Parsely and Queen Rosemary are looking better than ever! Four terracotta pots, soil, plant food, and a few other bits and pieces came to around £35. Ok, it's a bit more than I wanted to pay but the whole day was lovely. No long commute. No chain garden centre. Just a lovely walk around Islington followed by a day of getting my hands dirty. Perfect!

Anyway I liked tofu was perfectly baked and not too rubbery with the salt and pepper complementing the slightly hot sriracha mayo. Old fashioned pet store…read more It's old fashioned in as much as its laid out in a fashion more akin to a store in an Istanbul souk rather than the modern minimalist clean cut ways of the west. Stacked to the rafters with pet parafenalia it's the place to get all your pet needs met. For fellow cat owners they sell catnip mice that cause our cat to go a little mental and within a couple of days disembowel the cheap little toy. She loves 'em and it's a pleasure to watch her go mental.
