Not only every type, size, and colour of stationery is available but also extensive printing facilities. If you want super cheap and instant photos Officeworks is your best bet. Often they aren't that busy so they'll print your order off straight away or at best give you a chance to browse the store while you wait. I always head straight here when I need an assignment printed and bound (perhaps the morning it is due....) in a hurry. Being open from 7am-9pm weekdays is ultra handy as well.

Printers, paper, pens, scrapbooks, Minties...you name it and Officeworks will have it. Staff in store can be sparsely populated but are generally quite knowledgeable and if they aren't too sure will find someone who can help. The store also runs workshops on the weekend catering to small business owners. Prices are quite cheap and parking is a breeze.

Since I went on a Monday evening, there were a lot of staff on hand to help me out. Saying that, what is listed on the website is not necessarily what is in store ... so I had to improvise. They now have an aisle of upmarket fancy desk accessories, probably to rival Kikki K and to some extent Smiggle (in the fact that they are colour coded) - very nice! I will definitely have to come here again ;) On the right hand side of the store is all the electrical and office equipment - this seems easy to negotiate, and again there were plenty of staff here to help out customers. Enter this Cartridge World, where the staff member was so helpful he advised me that I could purchase double the amount of ink for nowhere near double the price. I really appreciated this as obviously he'd make more money if I kept buying the ones I had been, but instead he gave awesome customer service and I keep coming back. In my case, I don't use a printer very often. You'd think I'd have a hard time running out of ink, but for some reason, it's been designed to run out of ink within one week, regardless of how much printing I do. So when I was unexpectedly caught short on ink, I went in here and they sorted me out fairly quickly and reasonably cheaply. While I prefer to buy my cartridges online (where it's much cheaper again), this place is awesome when you can't wait and need ink right effing now.

This is what happens when the worship of materialism infiltrates the middle-class working world. Chuck a bow on a soft pink pen, put it in a shop, and make millions. Seriously, just buy a pack of handy-dandy BIC pens and be done with it. Or at the very least head over to Officeworks, buy a decent, efficient biro that is worth the ridiculous dollars you pay for it.

Other brands like Lamy (my personal favourite), Parker and Waterman are on offer for the mid-range buyers and those on a budget with other less known brands offering a surprise. When it comes to ink, Pencraft stocks refills and ink for all of their stocked brands as well as Sailor and Private Reserve in a range of colours. If the colour you need or want isn't in, don't be worried, the staff are more than happy to place an order for you and get it in as quickly as possible. The staff in this store are exemplary. I have never felt so comfortable in my life then walking into this store surrounded by pens worth $5000 and other extravagance and asking at the desk what they would recommend for a present in my dreary work uniform. I always feel welcome in here and staff go out of their way to satisfy your choice and seem generally enthused at their work. I'll always remember when buying cartridges for my fountain pen the lady at the counter showing me the latest Mont Blanc which had just come in and how beautiful the pen, but mostly the box was. Office National isn't that kind of place. It's small and focused with basic office supplies. Yes that's as boring as it sounds: but 'boring' can also equal super useful. If you're an office worker or business type, there are times when all you need is A4 paper or printer toner or sticky tape. I pop in here for those kind of basics when I'm out and about.

I felt I was treated…read moredifferently to another customer who wasn't a person of colour, when my request to have my sheets wrapped in a recycled plastic sleeve was refused, yet another customer received packaging for her items without issue and with extra charges. Instead, my sheets were folded and wrapped only in paper, which got wet from a sprinkler on my way home and damaged part of it. If my request had been followed, this would not have happened.

Eckersleys is on the whole a very good art and craft store…read more I find that Premier Art is cheaper and Central Art Supplies more informative and of higher quality than Eckersleys and would usually use one of those in preferance to Eckerslys. However, they do have a very broad range, stock a number of items which are not available at the other art stores and from time to time have specials on offer which are cheaper beyond comparison when compared to other art supply stores. They have a very broad range of craft papers, as well as a good selection of easels and canvasses. (I recently got a very large italian made studio easel ultra cheap from eckersleys on special.) They stock as a standard item an acryllic paper pad (which I find very useful for water colour painting) which has a great deal more than the standard 12-20 sheets at a very affordable rate. I have not found anything comparable anywhere else. I also picked up a very high quality Kolinsky-Sable brush (a real not synthetic one) from Ecersleys which although expensive is fantastic and has lasted me years of use.
