The first thing I noticed was that there is not waiting room, and that there is a long row of chairs to sit on, which are very comfortable. There are magazines to choose from while waiting. We didn't have to wait long (around 10 minutes) before we were welcomed into the room. The staff and dentist here are highly knowledgeable. The dentist definitely knows his dental terminology, and sounds like a real problem solver. I can't wait until my Dad will be able to flash his new set of teeth and say "I can finally eat properly again." The office looks very clean. All the clients' information is on their computer, their dental chair, and my parents both enjoyed their time here.

Not once was I made to feel uncomfortable, or judged as to how the decay occurred. The empathy shown by Dr Michael Filosi was to an excellent standard, and made an unpleasant event the best it could be. I was consistently reassured throughout the process, and knew I was able to pause the procedure if needed. Dr Filosi was attentive to my body language and listened when I said there was pain. The professionalism and kindness of the entire practice and especially Dr Filosi has set this practice apart from the rest, and has made a difference in how I view going to the dentist. The follow up care, personalisation, and making you the centre of the treatment has made this practice the top of dental standard, and the only practice I'll go to. It was one of those fabulous internet offers that led me here. I had also received glossy junk mail flyers spruiking this new, flashy, heaven-on-a-stick dental surgery in town. Although my choppers are quite snazzy themselves I'm told, I was dazzled and daunted by the mega movie star grin of the blonde on this paraphernalia, and binned it. Heaven is not too far off the mark at Dental Excellence. Its whiteness is so reassuring it almost provides religious comfort. And therapists are on hand too. Of the relaxation kind. Let me explain. This dental nirvana also exudes spa-like qualities. With aroma therapy, reflexology, hand massage and wafts of relaxation music, you can retain that inner glow whilst having a root canal. Should you prefer wafts of a different kind whilst having your toothy pegs tackled, there's happy gas on tap. Keep it close for when you get the bill. The nitrous oxide won't knock you out but the bottom line sure might. Votive candles aside, the technology here is state of the art. Your jaw will (have to) drop at the intra-oral camera and digital x-ray machine. The latter takes in a complete panoramic view of your mouth. Should you prefer a more picturesque vista, the floor to ceiling windows of Dr Kahn's city rooms look over Hindmarsh Square. Under the care of dental hygienist Meg, you can turn a blind eye to what she's picking away at by availing yourself to the in-flight, sorry, in-chair entertainment. There's an LCD TV and DVD player with about 10,000 movies to choose from, so you can use Keanu as another excuse for drooling.

I have always had bad experiences with bulk billing Medical Centres. Generally you need to wait for…read moreages and the doctors always seem to be grumpy and overworked. However, the Norwood Medical Centre seems to be different. This Medical Centre can get busy, especially during flu season. But the Doctors seem to get through the crowds in good time. Depending on when you arrive the wait should not be too long. I guess every day is different. But today I arrived at 8:30am and only waited 5 mins! Crazy! I have waited much longer in a private surgery. The last couple of times that I have been there the staff at reception have been lovely, they smile and are very polite. The Doctor I saw was super sweet and happy to help me. We had a joke and a good chat. He checked through all my records before addressing my needs and updated all my information. That is unusual for a Medical Centre. Usually they just want to know what is going on and get onto the next person. I was very impressed and happy! I have now decided to boycott all other bulk-billing Medical Centres for this one! The open times are great as well if you need a quick appointment before or after work: 7am - 10pm 365 days! Perfect if you need a last minute appointment or prescription. Oh, and there is a Chemist attached to it as well just in case you need something. Note: I think that my short waiting time was due to early morning appointment.
