I'm one of those nut-jobs that loves going to the dentist. I think it's partly because I've found such a good one. I first made an appointment here after the appeal of no gap payment on a clean and check up for anyone with health insurance. This makes the place incredible popular and insanely busy, but they still great everyone with a smile and take it all in their stride. My favourite staff member is my hygienist, Abraham, a wonderfully friendly man who is checks in with me every few minutes to make sure I'm okay and tell me how good a patient I am (although, I'm sure he says it to all his patients). The room has a wall of plants at your feet providing a pleasant outlook and there's an adjustable tv to can position overhead to distract you from having a bunch of tools and fingers in your mouth. You can't hear anything over the machines, but then it's fun to guess what they're saying on never-ending soaps such as Days of our Lives. I've just booked in for my January 2012 clean and my son's first dentist visit. I'll review again then as to how they cater for children. read more

I have been so very impressed with Smile Co at Norwood. As with another reviewer, finding out that a 6-month check-up and clean was free to those with private health insurance (even if Extras only), was the catalyst for me to finally go to the dentist. After 5 years. The previous visit not having even been conducted in Australia! (I was studying in Germany at the time) The staff on the phone were professional and helpful. After learning that it had been a while since my last dental visit they structured my check-up accordingly. Hygenist Amelia spent a lot of time focusing on both cleaning my teeth and giving me practical advice on teeth care. This high level of service extended to the Dentist Shayda who was also keen to not only provide a service but impart knowledge on a customer keen to learn. I wasn't surprised to learn that I needed fillings and the subsequent session for those was just as impressive (this time with Hygenist Shelley assisting Shayda). So much so that I wasn't even nervous and felt very assured of their ability to go a great job. I walked out of the dental clinic having had a very positive experience. Highly recommended and I already have booked in for my 6-month check-up. read more

I'm one of those people who hates spending money on going to the dentist, so when a friend told me that Smile Co don't charge a gap to people with private health insurance for checkups every six months, I booked in straight away. The dentist I saw was polite and professional - always advising me that what he was doing would be at no extra out of pocket cost for me, and putting together quotes for future procedures that would have an out of pocket cost for me to consider. At no time did I feel there was any pressure placed on me to spend extra money, and was completely satisfied with the service provided to me. read more

I have been going to smileco at norwood for 5 years. fantastic service, no gap for 3 month cleaning EVER. I noticed on my last visit that they have expanded from 3 chairs to 7. Then I was surprised to be hit with a $30 gap for my normally free of charge clean. Upon querying the assistant advised me there were new owners. Last week I had another scheduled clean, to be told by the dentist that I need a night guard for my teeth to stop them cracking! ' oh and have you considered braces madame???" 51 years of great teeth, why have I NEVER been asked this before?? I guess the refurbishment costs have to be accrued somehow. I decided to try this practice after my long time, excellent and very expensive dentist retired. It was mostly the lure of no gap treatment which interested me, as I have excellent teeth of which I take good care.I thought it would be mostly check up and cleans that I'd need. I was surprised to learn that I needed some fillings, but downright affronted when the dentist described the tartar build up as "shit". His blokey , "she'll be right, mate" manner was also something I'd not previously experienced with the dental professional. With the realisation that leaving the fillings for too long could result in root canal treatment and the appeal of the small gap, I decided to go ahead with the fillings but will never return. The dentist was rough, caused me sharp pain and BLAMED ME for it. I know others are very happy Smile Co,but for me paying a bit more is worth it to have more experienced and professional care. read more
