The kindness, patience, and genuine care I received made all the difference and completely put me at ease. Dr Farag went above and beyond, even offering to stay late to make sure everything was taken care of, which speaks volumes about his character and dedication to his patients. Total Rip-off Smile Design, they wanted to charge me $150 for an Agingivectomy that my insurance clearly covers at no cost to me. Come to find out, they charged me that $150 on another occasion in the past, basically double-dipping by charging the insurance and me. When I questioned it with the practice manager, Jacqulyn Mullarkey, I was told basically they did not care what my insurance company says, this was the way their corporation does business, and as a matter of fact, they charged me yet another time for a total of two double-dipping, then I was told to have a nice day. Blatantly unprofessional. I filed a grievance with the insurer. Avoid this company unless you want to be overcharged and treated like the only thing that matters is your money. read more

The dentist seemed competent, but the staff is the worst I've ever dealt with. They couldn't make a decent temporary crown, didn't know how to operate the X-ray machine, and couldn't figure out my insurance. I went in for a cleaning appointment and was told I couldn't have it because I had not had an exam and X-rays, which they should have checked first. Now they are billing me an extra amount saying I am 60 days overdue when just got the bill. This place is a total mess. read more

The doctor may be OK, the dental hygienist above average BUT the customer service I received from the office manager is not in line with the rest of the team. When calling to reschedule my appointment I was immediately informed - in a rather threatening way - that a $50 cancellation fee was going to be impounded since a 24 hour time period was not given for this change. A call beforehand was impossible to do since the holiday-day before prevented that from happening. She finally agreed to drop the fee. This exchange was quite a painful experience. Horrible, just horrible. They do not know what they are doing or services offered by location. Beware stay away! Let me take you down my experience ; I called was told that this location does implants. Booked an appointment via phone I went in. I was greeted by a young lady at the door who told me not to expect to get X-rays done because she is pregnant, i told her that's fine but she can call my dentist to get my xrays they were done within the year. She just looked at me like a deer in headlights. I was handed a pen and the paperwork outside, did i mention it's August and I'm in Florida? A very nice young lady passed by said hello and went into the office, came back out seconds later with a chair. She said I'm sorry we are not allowing anyone in the lobby but i want you to have a chair. That was nice. She came back and told me I'm sorry this location does not do implants. Really?! After i was told it does. I am so frustrated. Thank you for wasting my time. My time obviously doesn't matter. read more

I just moved to Tampa recently and My veneer popped out and I called several places and no one could take me in the same day. This office was awesome of getting me and out on a timely manner. The whole staff and doctor were friendly and knowledgeable. Couldn't asked for a better place. Definitely recommend this practice. And I will be following back up for future dental work. My 96 year old mother went to Smile Dentistry to address a sore area by one of her molars. Long story short, the dentist recommended a cleaning to clear up some slightly infected gums around her tooth. She left feeling like not all her teeth were cleaned and called back to understand exactly what was done. She was told they did a periodontal cleaning in the area around the soreness (at best one quadrant in her mouth). For that she was charged $224. (the whole cleaning process took about 15 minutes.) If you multiply that by 4 that would mean a full periodontal cleaning would be $900! Outrageous! I feel she was taken advantage of due to her age and the fact that she told them she was heading back to Indiana. Shame on them!!! read more

This was the most frustrating dentist appointment of my long life, I'm 61. I came in for a denture repair, a simple tooth that broke, a very basic job that should cost less than $200. I had the tooth with me. I was told upfront that I was required to undergo a general teeth exam with x-rays to be allowed to submit my denture. I found this odd. But, this dentist is next door to my home, very convenient, and I did not care to go and look for another one. Since I had to undergo x-rays and a full examination, I also asked for a deep cleaning, a denture lining and a duplicate denture and partial. The strangest thing at the office is that I could not obtain prices for standard procedures before the appointment. "You'll see that with the dentist", I was told. It took 5 minutes of negotiation just to determine the price for a simple cleaning. There, I should have become suspicious. After x-rays, the dentist tried to sell me a complete teeth pull out, implants, a new denture, a new partial... a $10 000+ job. I refused. My teeth feel great. He pointed to an abscess on the x-ray. "I must pull out", he said. I have had quite a few infections in the past and this one looked like very benign to me. I told him that I would not get this sort of expensive job done at his office anyway, since it is a very expensive procedure, that I can get it for free in France where I have a great insurance. From there on, he refused to do my teeth cleaning because I would not undergo the complete mouth overhaul he wanted to sell to me. He accepted to send my denture for repair to the lab. But, he refused to clean and line my second denture, which was so dirty that it caused the abscess I referred to earlier. And, he refused to order a duplicate denture, which was also the reason for me accepting this forced exam. And, no matter what I'd ask for, it was clear he would refuse. He refused because he could not sell me the $10 000+ big works. So, I got me a Waterpick cleaner from Amazon, some cleaning solution and proceeded to do my own cleaning. It's just as good a result as professional. What he pointed to as decay turns out to have been no more than a coat of scale (tartar), which I removed in no time. I am also ordering a duplicate denture from the Web. It's inexpensive, less than 500 dollars for the best quality. And, I will be doing ny own lining upon receipt, which is much easier to do than most people think using Durasoft-Liner. This dentist is no better than a crooked transmission repairman who tries to sell a complete rebuild for $2000 when the problem is no more than a low level of transmission fluid. AVOID ABSOLUTELY. The office feedback following review was rude, falsely referring to the "Federal Law", aggressive, by a bully who was not trying to make things better but to shut me up. I am considering contacting the board. read more

I knew exactly what I wanted when I went. I explained to them exactly what I wanted and of course, I expected, they gave me options and some were more than the others. Once I made the decision there was no resistance, as like to upsell me more what I wanted. I respected that. They did a great job, Ashley was the first person I talked to and was very professional and comforting. I almost didn't go from reading other reviews BUT... I am an adult and I judge folks how I AM TREATED and they treated me very well.. Did the job professionally and that's all I ask for. I asked all of my questions up front and new exactly what they can and cannot do in this office. This Tarpon location has the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced. I switched my insurance several months ago and waited for it to be active. I then scheduled an appointment and showed up on time only to be told they had just requested my dental records from my previous dentist that day. I called multiple times even went back into the office and they had still not received my records. I called my previous dentist myself and ask for the records to be sent. Finally today after 5 plus weeks I was told they did receive my records but now the dentist office is no longer accepting the HMO. I was told this is because they have a new dentist on board and she is not certified for my particular insurance. WTF? read more

do not go to smile design. i have spent thousands of dollars and my bridge is loose and they will not replace it!!!!! the bridge they replaced lastest 17 years my other bridge ( from another denist in colorado) is still good after 20 years. they replaced the bridge 4 years ago, the bridge is fine but they did not cement it properly so it has become loose. they refuse to replace it!!!! i have spent thosands of dollars with this denist and this is how they treat people!!!!! read more

New operations/office manager (ever wonder why they always seem to change every few months). Incompetent, hostile. Overcharged thru their (office) incompetence. This place just wants $$$$$$. All was good with my teeth in Seattle. In the 8 months since I moved to FL two small surface fillings had fallen off and it was time for a cleaning. The scam at this place is everybody needs deep cleaning. They were going to charge me $550 for that plus 385 to replace the 2 fillings. Went to another dentist: no charge above what my insurance would pay for cleaning and only 145 to replace the fillings. Everybody's got periodontal disease and they scare you with the nasty pictures. This location is structured to generate $$$, it's all about multiple appointments and performing unnecessary procedures. I've been going to a dentist in another state, twice a year forever. I guess Dr. Aledo is making so much money, a cash pay patient in need of a crown is not worth his time. Good for him. I have referred several friends to this practice, however, I won't anymore. I work 7:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day. The staff called me and left voicemails advising I needed to call to confirm my appointment. Well, I did on May 7th at 5:11 p.m. I left a voicemail confirming this appointment. I arrive for my appointment today at 2:00 and I am told my appointment was cancelled because I did not confirm it. I DID. Funny thing, at 10:58 a.m. this morning I received a text message confirming the appointment. WTH? The front office didn't care, only Insisted I would need to reschedule. I was able to talk to the Dr. as he came out for water, showed him my phone that I had called. He didn't seem to care either. Out of frustrating and the fact I wouldn't want to even do business with the atmosphere I left. I not only waited a month for this appointment I TOOK THE AFTERNOON OFF OF WORK. What a shame. I could only say good things about this office unfortunately, not anymore. Such poor customer service. FIND A NEW DENTIST ASAP -- DO NOT GO TO DR. ALEDO! I have been to multiple Smile Design Dentistry location(s) and this by far is the **worst dentist office** I have been to in the Tampa/St. Petersburg area. After going to cleanings every 6 months and not having a cavity for over 3+ years. I decided to follow my hygienist to her new location in Tarpon Springs. Little did I know that DR. ALEDO is god awful! He claimed I had 6 cavities total. I was completely shocked since I hadn't had a cavity in over 3+ years. I decided to let him fill the three cavities on my left side. He spent over 2+ hours attempting to fill my cavities (he was having trouble because my teeth are slightly tight together). Please keep in mind these were "small" cavities. NOT ONCE, did he stop to explain himself and communicate with me what he was doing and WHY he was having trouble. I finally got to the point where I was in tears and had to ask him what the hell he was doing (please note I never cry). What upset me was he acted as if my mouth was his and he owned it! After wanting to just run out of the dentist office -- I left him finish the 3 supposed cavities (2 were small). PLEASE NOTE: because he spent so many hours filling my cavities and how rough he was on my mouth. DR. ALEDO actually prescribed me a high dose of Advil. I have never been prescribed a prescription when leaving the dentist. After leaving the dentist, I had severe pain on the left side of my mouth for over 2 months. My mouth was sensitive to cold and hot. Not to mention the bottom cavity he filled -- now when I floss has massive amounts of food that comes out the cavity he filled. AND not to mention the top cavity he filled, now has a huge hole that I can feel with my tongue. Both will eventually need to be crowned due DR. ALEDO! I decided to go see another local dentist that was recommended by a friend/co-worker the following week. I had to call DR. ALEDO's office multiple times -- attempting to get a copy of my records. DR. ALEDO's office finally sent over a blurry copy of my x-rays to my new dentist and would not send my detailed health records to my new dentist (just an itemized receipt). My new dentist (out of the kindness of his heart) took new x-rays and saw ZERO cavities on the right side of my face. REMEMBER -- DR. ALEDO claimed I had an additional three cavities on the right side of my face. The files that were reviewed by my new dentist also did not show any cavities that he decided to fill on his own -- and claimed I had only one cavity out of the total six he claimed that needed to be filled. Again, DR. ALEDO claimed I had a total of six cavities and only ONE needed to be filled. I found multiple reviews online about DR. ALEDO with similar situations like myself. Please also note that Smile Design Dentistry completely re-designed their website to where you can't see the original reviews straight off their website. I truly believe that they had to re-design their website due to the multiple complaints and bad reviews from DR. ALEDO. I attempted to be get refunded for the money I paid out of my pocket and got no where with DR. ALEDO's office. I also had zero follow-up with Smile Design Dentistry corporate office and was super disappointed due to the fact I've been to two other location(s) -- one in Tampa Palms and one in Citrus Park. If you have bad situation with DR. ALEDO -- remember to make a claim to your heath insurance. It is ILLEGAL to make fake/false claims to your health insurance just because you are an awful dentist. I recommended going to a different dentist in Tarpon Springs -- DO NOT USE DR. ALEDO! read more
