I was involved in a accident, that caused me to have this dr assigned to me,at a physical rehabilitation center.I was with him for 6 long yrs.He would show up late.Would always take a long time waiting to see him.The first year I saw him,I was never charged a copay.I asked why&was informed that since I had major surgeries, etc.I wouldn't be charged for the copays. Then 1 yr into it,they called me 1 day before my appt.&informed me I had to pay the copays, for the entire year, before being able to see the dr&get my meds(which I could not stop taking).I did pay,but I found it wrong. Also,I know some drs will allow you to pay the copay later. Not this one.He has his wife, daughter,&son involved in his business practices&sad to say, they are not capable of running such a business. They would make me an appt.&I would show up&I would be told I didn't have an appt&would have to come back another day.I lived 1hr&15mins away.I also had a few times where I would show up for my appt&there would be times he had a emergency/issue&they said they tried calling, but I never recieved a call.I put up with this for 6yrs bc I thought he was helping me.Little did I know how bad things got.He was prescribing me huge amounts of narcotic pain meds&I got addicted.IF I (&I did)asked him what he thought&he would say I wasn't addcited,I was dependent.I was stupid enough to believe it.Sadly to say I almost loss everything in my life&I was due to get my meds that day.I called&canceled&went to seek help.I have 2+yrs clean, even though I live in excruitiating pain daily.(I have 3 parts of my body where metal plates, rods,&screws are)My advice is its ok to question your dr,to do research about therapies&medication choices,to help you make a better decision in your health care. read more
