As the supervising physician, Dr. Chauhan is ultimately responsible for the standards of care in his office. Refusing to see a patient who waited half a year over a seven-minute delay doesn't reflect compassion or professionalism. A clinic's purpose is to care for patients, not protect the lunch schedule. If I had a serious condition, those seven minutes could have mattered. Reading other feedback, it seems this office has a pattern of turning patients away instead of working with them. Lake Havasu deserves providers who value patients' time and health equally.

He recognized that there was indeed a problem and immediately set a course of testing that pinpointed the cause with in 2 weeks. One other doctor in Havasu, after seeing her for 2 years told me, " in all my years of practice I've never given up on a patient, but there is nothing I can do for you". Thank God I found Doctor Peterson. His words were, "there is a problem and we are going to get to the bottom of this". He ran 3 tests within 2 weeks and diagnosed the problem I have had for three years. The last test he ran was for cancer. He wrote the prescription for the hospital to run a needle biopsy on my right lung. The test was run during the time Doctor Peterson was on vacation. His staff assured me that even though he would be on vacation that he keeps up with his patients electronically while he is away. My skeptical nature said to me "sure he does"..........I waited for the results from Tuesday when the test was completed until 8:30 on Saturday evening when unexpectedly the phone rang. "Hi this is Doctor Peterson, I'm sorry for calling this late but I just got the results from your biopsy and I didn't want you to have to worry until morning". Hello, this man is on vacation and he is taking the time to consider the fact that I'm worrying that I might have cancer? I never realized that there were doctors out there that would be that caring. I have grown accustomed to the ones that can't wait to get you out of the exam room so they can rush to the next patient so that they can get more billable time in to each day. Not so with Doctor Peterson. When you have gone over everything, he leans back, folds his arms across his chest and says, "what else do we have to talk about today". If you then tell him there is nothing, he gets up and walks with you to the reception desk, shakes your hand and says goodby. His wife Sue, a lovely lady, is his nurse and the office staff are so kind, pleasant and helpful. Almost make the dreaded experience of going to the doctor a lot more palatable. This man is one in a million and my wife and I are so thankful that he has decided to take roots in Lake Havasu.

The phlebotomist called my name at the door and that was as far as her verbal exchange went, except for the "That's it". She couldn't find my vein in my left arm after three tries and a big Oww! from me. Didn't even offer an "Im sorry" I suggested she use my right arm as that was the one that was used last visit. She found that one first try and put the cotton ball and elastic gauze on it and said "That's it." After which I held up my left arm with blood running down it that she didnt wrap after the first attempt at a draw. She then cleaned it up and wrapped it. That will be my last visit for my labs at Optima. It will be Labcorp in the future. Too bad, it would have been more convenient to have it done here.
