Purchased a Kenmore washer and dryer from an ad on Craigslist on May 15, 2019. Thought it was a…read morelegitimate purchase because it stated" come view at Advent Thrift." It also stated it had a "60 Day Warranty" and no where did it state repairs only NO REFUNDS. I am a single working mother with 2 sons who have blood diseases and after speaking with Al over the phone found a person to pay and have the set picked up. When the pickup person arrived he entered the store asked Mrs. Peters (Manager) for Al and she stated "right over there." The washer tub has numerous rust spots and clothes have been damaged. I called and spoke with Al and asked for a refund and he stated "no refunds only repairs" and I stated that was not stated in the ad and he agreed that it was not. He offered to come to my home and change out the tub and again I requested my $$ back and that the ad needed to be clear in reference to a "60 Day Warranty". He at which time stated "it was not a good time for him to speak and that he was hanging up." I called him back and asked again for a refund and he stated no again and claimed he almost ran into something talking on the phone with me. I told him I would not call again but rather have legal contact him. Next, I called and spoke with Elizabeth Peters (Manager) of Advent Thrift and explained to her my circumstances, she indicated that he was leasing space and that she had not seen the ad. She wanted to call him and offered to call me back. I received a return call from her and she stated "He offered to repair the tub so leave me out of it." I am competing paperwork and filing a small claims judgement against Al. To protest not having the terms honored is worth the $78 plus $20 to have a sheriff serve the judgement/paperwork. Always keep receipts and take a screenshot of ads...I am so glad I did!! On the receipt, he had another opportunity to write "no refunds only repairs"...but he did not. Advent Thrift need to require leaser's to have insurance and state clearly they are a separate entity. They may be liable also.

The His Way campus consists of 5 buildings sitting on almost 6 acres. The program is 6 months long (with an optional second 6 months), and includes proven recovery materials and classes, spiritual counseling, life skills coaching, and professional development and assistance." I've only been to the Pratt Avenue store and only for a drop off and get a tax receipt experience. Yup, it was the end of the calendar year and my car was fairly loaded with clothing and household goods. I was grateful a man kindly help me offload everything and obtaining the tax receipt from the cashier area was quick and seamless. It's a sizeable store, I did not have time to browse, which I normally enjoy when at thrift stores. It did appear well-stocked. Their other store locations are 1338 Winchester Road, 11199 South Memorial Parkway, and 8760 Madison Blvd., Suite K. Donators and thrift store shoppers alike should try Saving Way, its for a great cause, ya'll!

This place is a gold mine loaded with all sorts of goodies! There are multiple booths located…read moreinside. This is a days worth and then some of goodies to dig through. If you're stopping into this place, make sure you have a few hours to kill. If you rush yourself you'll miss things. Looking into all the glass cabinets can offer you up some really cool treasures. This is usually were the smaller treasures are located. I found several antique items that I will be able to give to family and friends as gifts who also are collectors. There are multiple booths with everything from A to Z. The military section is really awesome. Lots to be found there. What a great day to spend looking for things you just can't get anymore. I love antiques and I really enjoyed this place.

We only had a few more spots to look so we were going to check before we left so we turned a corner. Immediately a older man that worked there said it is 5 and pointed at the door and said can you leave. It's ok to inform someone that you close soon but to rush someone out of a store is wild. Never will I shop at this rude store again.
