Topped with a bit of mustard sauce and a bit of red sauce? It's HEAVEN. The tacos? Amazing. The burnt ends? SO good. I buy extra meat when I go! There is only one downside here - it is take out only and so good that there is often a traffic jam and a bit of wait to get your food. And they do tend to run out of ribs early. But other than that this place is straight up great. I've had the pork, ribs, brisket, and smoked turkey. All are excellent. The season fries are really tasty. And the coleslaw is really good. Superb. My husband, we live in Florida, considers himself pretty good at bbq. He said um yeah, they know what they're doing. Last night at our mtn cabin rental and first considered getting frozen pizza at the IGA. Decided to go into Brevard and instead, get something good. This place was a GOOD choice! Seriously amazing brisket tacos!!!! They are a must!!!! Also had the pulled pork and ribs which were also good. I'm very picky when it comes to pork and ribs because my hubby smokes them and they r the best I've ever had anywhere. I give blue smoke a 4 out of 5 for those. This food truck was conveniently located across from The Sunset Motel where we were staying and since it had great reviews, we decided to check it out. They are a drive thru only. I walked over, but I was able to just stand in line. (I was worried I was going to get taken out by the Honda Fit behind me, but thankfully I made it). By the time I finally made it to the window, they were out of brisket, pork, and half-chickens!! That was mostly everything I was supposed to order. In the interest of time, I got 2 orders of tacos - pulled chicken and jackfruit. Never in my life, heard of jackfruit but I figured I'd give it a try. I was hungry. Also got the cheesy corn, collards, and slaw. OH MY GOODNESS!!!! I'm now obsessed with jackfruit!!! These tacos were amazing. I can't encourage others to try them enough. I LOVE me some good brisket and I'm sure they make a great brisket here, but I'm getting the smoked jackfruit again next time we go. Enjoy and take the time to drive (or stand) by this place. Food was fast, fresh, and excellent! As a vegetarian, I tend to avoid bbq restaurants because they never seem to have anything that I can eat. I tried to house salad with bbq Jack fruit. Oh guah y'all, this place is fantastic! I love BBQ and they do it right! Their pulled pork is juicy and absolutely delicious! It's awesome without adding any sauce, but I love their sweet BBQ sauce. I love this restaurant so much, and have a slight obsession with their pulled pork barbecue sandwich and slaw. Their fries are perfectly battered, crunchy and substantial. I love their food so much, that we recently hosted a large party and catered 10 pounds of barbecue, a half pan of their creamy corn (YUM), coleslaw, and baked beans. Best BBQ I've had in the Asheville/Brevard area. I got today's special- the Burnt End platter. The fries and slaw were fine but the meat was as good as I've ever gotten at Jack Straw's or anywhere else in in Kansas City. The meat had the right proportion of bark to meat to smoke. It was a succulent treat to eat at a local park. The drive through service was friendly and quick. I'm anxious to try other menu items in future visits. read more

Blue Smoke has been slinging some of the best bbq in Transylvania County for years and their new Blue Smoke Express drive thru is incredible. They're always running specials and the food really is incredible. The drive thru line can move slow during peak hours but the wait is worth it. Some of the best fries in town. I'm not a chef, but it appears that they heat everything in your order individually after you place your order, which means it's piping hot when you get it... delicious. Check their Facebook page for the current days menu, it changes often. The brisket and Mac and Cheese seem to sell out very frequently. As one who absolutely loves french fries I could have cried tears of joy because they were just that delicious. The pulled pork was flavorful and juicy but not greasy. Ordered a BBQ pulled pork sandwich and two sides. First, the sandwich..the pulled pork was good. Smokey flavor and not greasy. Could definitely have used more slaw. The problem was the bun..the bottom half was literally 2 inches thick! WTF? Pretty gross. Discarded the bottom half of the bun so it really was no longer a sandwich. The sides? BBQ beans and their collard greens., both were vinegar-based and both had way too much SUGAR. Pretty disappointing.
