I haven't been here but when I can I will, being a cigar enthusiast I found that okers Haven was having a Micallef Cigar (I'm an ambassador of Micallef Cigars) promotion, I called and talked with Brain who was very helpful in my selection. I forgot my wife and I were leaving two days after my order on vacation to New Braunfels Texas. But all was good because my son and daughter-in-law would be home to receive the order, little to my surprise I called back and talked with John who explained about my shipment and not to worry because I was in good hands and he would take care of me. We came home from our trip and little to my surprise I won the the raffle a box of cigars along with seven free cigars and a lighter with my purchase. I also got a 20% discount card on my next purchase, I was excited because I hardly win anything let alone what came in the mail. But what really caught my eye was the letter John wrote "Not type but wrote" and explained everything in my purchase and the items I won. Thank you John and Smokers Haven for getting my sticks to me in great condition!! I will surely be by to visit and make future purchases with you. One of those classic tobacconists. Smokers Haven has been around my entire life. (Used to be across from the corndog place in the South Plains Mall. I have this Proustian childhood memory of the aroma of rich tobacco and corn dogs frying, but I digress.) I was in Lubbock visiting some friends and I was getting low on pipe tobacco. I really didn't want to resort to buying some kind of bulk nastiness from some drug store so I started searching for a smoke shop. There were many places similar to "discount tobacco" and a huge amount of "e-cig" stores but no smoke shops. I started getting discouraged so I expanded my search and finally found Smokers Haven. The location had changed and the new location was not yet listed here on Yelp so I found it through and alternative search. After visiting the store I thought I should make a new listing for the new location. I had a very good visit to the store. The cigar humidor is well stocked with a surprising variety of brands and sizes. They had Jars of bulk pipe tobacco, not just tins like a shop that does not carry many pipe products. They also had a small sitting area for sitting around and smoking while sharing stories with other smokers or watching the game on TV. I will say I was pretty impressed with this little smoke shop in Lubbock. The prices are about right so that was a surprise as most small town smoke shops charge a bunch for high end cigars much like the bigger stores in bigger cities. This place must do quite a bit of business in order to offer items at good prices. I am sure If I am back in the area I will pay them a visit. Decent selection forLubbock, but the last 3 or 4 times I have been in someone hounds you while your looking around and picking out your cigars, almost as if they are making sure you aren't stealing them or something. It's uncomfortable and not an enjoyable time while you're picking out cigars and someone is 3 feet behind you watching you. Good Karma has a better selection (other than JD Howard's) and is much more chill environment. read more

The selection is good, the prices are good, and they have a very large selection of pipes, not to mention premium pipe tobacco that's better than the other shops in town. Also, there's no membership required to sit down in one of their comfortable chairs, have a soda or drink, and smoke your purchase. I appreciate the balance in the humidor between old standards like Montecristo and Henry Clay to the newer boutique brands like Four Kicks with everything in between.
