Ok the wings are good, but.....do not order the smoked wings with lemon pepper seasoning. I have been cutting back on all of the sauces and tried to go with a healthier option but the lemon pepper definitely clashed with the smokiness of the wings. That was my fault of course. I don't know why bbq joints don't season the pork after it's pulled. Smoke flavoring was light but the sandwich was good. Potato wedges were heavily seasoned but really nothing special about them. We ate at this restaurant on Monday, August 18 at around 2:00 pm. Our server, Kelsey, was very nice, polite and professional. There was an irate, and very loud, woman shouting and screaming at the management while we were there. The irate woman's behavior was irrational and over the top. Kelsey kept her composure, continued to serve her customers professionally and even apologized to everyone for the disturbance. The disturbance was not the fault of the restaurant staff. The staff handled the situation very well. The food was good and we enjoyed our meal anyway. We did feel that management had the entire situation under control and felt safe. Stopped in for a late lunch on a Sunday. The restaurant had a large parking lot out front with both stairs and a ramp to access into the facility. We were kindly greeted and sat promptly. The restaurant was not busy at this time so I was confused why we were not spread out in seating we were seated right next to another booth instead of every other one. We were given menus and waited. We waited a solid 15 minutes before we were greeted by our waitress. She did apologize for the wait as she approached. My husband ordered an old fashioned. I ordered our meal for two and a pitcher of their patron margaritaes. Drinks came and so did our meal. I enjoyed the presentation of the bone fire dish. A sample of a little bit of everything and all in smoky goodness. I had to return the plates because they were dirty but we were given clean ones right away. We enjoyed the wings, potato spears, chicken, sausage and veggie. Did not care for the ribs. The atmosphere was well lit, smelled good and clean. I was highly upset with my experience at Smoky Bones today. I went in to eat with two other people and we were one of five tables in the restaurant. We were sitting at the table for 15 minutes without being greeted by any server while the tables around us were being taken care of. We were very excited to stop in and eat there while traveling here. Very discouraging to ever go back there after the way things happened today. Don't come here if you are actually hungry or a fan of barbecue. The pulled pork sandwich was the saddest thing ive seen. My wife and I had to give up some of our entrees just so my oldest didn't leave hungry. The chicken "breast" was comically small (like. a 2.5" round) and incredibly dry. The pulled pork was also dry and flavorless. The salmon was tiny and frozen. Even the portion of French fries was meager. It is obvious after being served why so few customers were here on a Friday night. Basically completely overpriced, but not even worth paying for if it wasn't. read more

Took my daughter to Smokey bones for a couple of their chicken sandwiches. I forget the full name, but it had barbecue sauce on it, and was delicious. Very friendly staff, but was just a little slow getting us our check. Seems to be a common occurrence at all restaurants so this doesn't stand out above anywhere else. I have never given a food review but ive felt compelled to do so. The food might be the worst BBQ i have ever eaten. The ribs were just tiny with tough meat you had to chew off the bone. The mac and cheese for the price was very little and not seasoned with salt i don't think at all. the chili was also fairly bland like tomato soup with chunks of under seasoned beef. the cornbread was microwaved so it became rock hard. If a restaurant cant bother to heat up bread in the oven that will tell you the level of care. lastly the cake might have been the driest cake ive eaten its like it was sitting out sliced for a few days before it was given to me. i do not recommend nothing I've eaten was good. run far away. read more

Ordered delivery from the websit. I never received my order. When I called the restaurant I was told they use a third party delivery service (door dash) and sometimes they don't get the delivery right. I was told I would get refunded the price of the order but never did. I would suggest they get a different delivery service and at least refund an order that never got delivered. I left a review on google and got a response wanting me to contact them with more information It's been 3 weeks and still haven't heard back from them. Will not order there again! read more

Waitress was friendly and although she was assisting 4 other tables, I would have thought I was her only table with the speedy service. Didn't have to even ask for a refill! Decided on the Mushroom Burger (medium well done) with loaded fries - it was excellent. Also added a house salad - had tomatoes, cucumbers, red onion and lots of croutons - delicious. Burger was tender and flavorful. Small burger but lots of fries, which made up for the size of the burger. Hubby decided on ribs with two sides, cole slaw and smoked wings. Coleslaw lacked that coleslaw flavor but it was fresh so it wasn't as bad. The smoked wings were to die for, a must when coming to Smokey bones in my opinion. The rub is a little spicy, no sauce needed but the mango habanero added a hint of sweetness. Overall, meal and service was great. read more

On May 1, I took a group of 30 to Smokey Bones in Grand Rapids. We had a fixed meal of pulled pork, baked beans, cole slaw and Texas toast. It was all very delicious and we were satisfied with the meal. I would like to commend our waitress, Shateja, because she served the entire group without any help. She took our beverage orders and filled those; then she began to bring the food. The plates were so hot she could only bring two at a time, but it did not take her long to serve us all. In the meantime, she was picking up tables in the main dining room. Shateja was very efficient, gracious, and kind. We had a good experience. read more

This review is based on two different visits. The first visit was just for the appetizer (Nachos) which were pretty good. I think they might have been half off since we stopped in after 9:00 PM. I think that it might be a normal thing to have 1/2 off after 9 like Applebees. I would get them again, especially when they are half off. The waitress our first time was nice and helpful as we advised it was our first time. She guided us to the specials and their norms. The latest visit was the pit for 4 and it has a lot of meat (Chicken, sausage, steak, wings) and potato wedges, some onions, and two peppers. The pit for 4 was just a bit over $60 so it's on the pricier side but does give you more meat than you think. When it first arrived, we thought this is not going to be enough but surprisingly everyone was content. I was a bit on the over full side as I finished up the last potato wedge and steak slice. I am not sure I would get it again for the price. If you do want a lot of meat and a variety, then it might be a good option. Especially if price is not an issue. You can also add sides for $2.99 per side. The sides are your typical portion size for a single person. I would recommend adding some sides to add to all the meat. The place was pretty full and lively. It was a nice atmosphere which I could see getting fun with the right people. The staff was very friendly and our waitress was very patient with us as we were trying to decide for some time. Great service can really make or break a place and they have not disappointed us so far. read more

Dined back in and enjoyed a delicious meal and great service. This place gets busy at times so the earlier you come the better. The staff goes above and beyond which is tough since like most places I'm sure they're short. Our blonde waitress (older lady running bar took think) was phenomenal: friendly and efficient getting around to us and all the patrons with an up brat attitude. Burgers came out after awhile but were worth the wait. You can tell and see the passion the cook must have to make these burgers look but more importantly TASTE so delicious and flavorful. It's hard not to order the burger every time we come when they taste this good. Can't wait to come back! read more
